Rearranging and making more roomRearranging and making more room

Just blogging. A big tl;dr.

So I'm not in trouble yet but I am realizing all the time lately how much limited space I actually have. Rather than waiting till everything is completely stuffed before I do anything, I'm taking some preemptive measures to utilize space better. One thing that was always kinda bugging me is my Megaman figure's stands. I dunno, something about them kinda just annoys me. How big they are and all. It just doesn't seem aesthetically pleasing. Though it's my fault for buying everything and anything at one point. I say this as if I don't still do this uwu... Anyway for the longest time I had them set up here:

I decided to try and see what I could do with them as well as some of my cheaper figs that were displayed nearby. Some of which I actually got during my early collecting days. I can foresee myself completely putting some of them in storage or selling some for cheap. (Already trying to get rid of my Jojo stuff and a few other things I put off that have been making me feel anxious cuz it just seems like a waste of space in my closet)

I moved them over to my bookshelf on mostly the top row which previously only had a Killua and Kurapika:

Kinda looks like an aesthetic clutter shounen jump shrine or something. I packed away the stands for the various Megaman ones and also put away Figma Kurapika's stand and balanced them well enough where they can stay up.

Continuing to collect manga is gonna be tough because I'm already running out of room. I'll probably put the One Piece volumes in storage since they take up so much space. And maybe the Naruto volumes that I mostly got just for Shino <v<;;;; I've actually considered getting into Kindle more because I don't think I have the space to keep collecting more smh. Why did I buy Japanese volumes of Toilet Bound Hanako Kun just cuz I was upset it wasn't physical over here. Whatever I'm always gonna be dumb as shit.

One of these days, after I get my next wave of figures, I'll have to do a tldr tour post of my room and collection. I grew up not taking much pride in my appearance of my room but as I've gotten older I try a lot more and I feel a little happier. (Besides the e girl depression that makes me buy this shit in the first place oops)

I was having a similar issue.
I looked around a couple months ago and noticed it was getting a wee bit crowded in here.
I was starting to run out of space to properly house my manga and figures!
Perhaps it was divine intervention or just coincidence, but my back wasn't getting along with my bed.
I decided to give sleeping on the floor a try and felt a huge improvement so I kept that up for a month and everything was still good. I figured keeping the bed was a little silly at that point and I wasn't comfortable on it anyway, so I got rid of it.
Without a bed, I had freed up space for about 3 more shelf units and am now safe for just a little bit longer.

After I fill up all that space... well, I guess I'll have to start getting rid of some of the things I don't care as much for anymore.
I guess I should thank the modern Star Wars movies for mortally wounding my love of the franchise...
It will hopefully make it easier to get rid of some of merch.

And yeah, long running manga like One Piece and Naruto are great until you realize you can fill a wall with them.
People like us need those massive libraries that mansions in movies tend to have.
Wall to wall shelves and a ladder that leads to a walkaround with more shelves.

Ah, the eternal struggle with space and buying more collectibles...

Part of the reason I go on selling kicks is to alleviate my space issues. The goal is to eventually not have any collectible in storage so I can fill it with more Nendo boxes. Then I have more money to throw into collecting, so it can be a win/win, heh.

Do you like to shop at Ikea? I've become really fond of this Paul add-on unit I have and it's only $20. You can fit manga into one shelf and smaller collectibles in the other two, it could be a nice solution if you have a place to put it on. If you don't mind drilling into the wall, photo shelves are nice for smaller figures, too. :)

mirberry (1 month ago) #58414385As someone else who also has the neverending problem of "All this stuff and my room's not getting any bigger," I'm constantly doing what I can to try and get creative... even culminating in the quintessential "Let's go to IKEA and add another furniture piece in so that I can rearrange everything, again!"
I'm trying to figure out fun and nifty ways to creatively store everything without magically devaluing something...
Also, it looks like the top shelf of your poor bookcase wants to buckle under all of that fine literature there!

I actually didnt notice. Should I be worried

Had to recently pack things away to make room for new things and it's becoming the common thing to do every few weeks since this room can't hold everything and a lot of stuff ends up being in storage boxes.

Almost time to change around posters again since things can get boring if I don't change things around every other month.

Making space for new things is a continual task I have to tend too every time there are a lot of figures coming in so hopefully thing can get to where that isn't done too much now since I'm not feeling the need to acquire a lot more since there isn't a lot of space here.

Hopefully you can keep your collectibles organized, that's my main objective for the year is to keep things here organized even if it's crowded.

Yeah I know the feeling, my current display has always been to small, and I'm already looking for a new one, I've always been clean and tidy so figure collecting is giving me an issue in that department lol.

Hope you get everything sorted.

Cringey ramblings (But not as cringey as they used to be) from a girl who collects toys to cope with crippling depression xddd.
