Hello MFC!
Today we will be reviewing ITEM #790419
While only announced quite recently, it has been long awaited for fans who just want a more cutesy Illya! And she delivers quite well.
Let us start with the box, I have to give it major points for just having such a modest size, here it is with a controller for reference.
It still provides ample protection on the sides in case of damage, and has a cute but simple design.

Onto the figure herself!
Not much has to be said about that cute face, but this is a review so I will. This defiantly was my biggest selling point, there is nothing better than a figure that makes you smile and she has the most precious smile.

The sculpt of the hands is quite great, I dont often feel I should mention them beyond clean lines, but this was defiantly a great focus on dynamic hands which really ties into making this a dynamic figure despite her technically just standing.

Onto her base. I do wish if they went plain clear, they wouldnt frost it, I at least prefer the invisible type gloss. A stage like design would be darling, so I may customize one when the other girls come.
I will say though, because we have two metal pegs, she is a very stable figure.

Her sculpt is so flowy and lively, as well as the paint being very clean and crisp. I found just one defect while looking her over and that was on a photo.
The mix of matte, and shiny, and metallic finishes do no justice to seeing her in person! Her mic is very clean in sculpt, and even from the lower side her mouth doesnt seem odd, which many open mouth figures can do.

The feathers also have a nice blue tinge, overall this helps keeping it from seeming bland and flat, I love how bold the colorations are.

I think my favorite thing about this, was them adding a hot pink, metallic paint on top of the glossy parts as a highlight tone. It had potential to backfire and look gaudy, but it was done in just the right amount. I did my best to capture it on camera.

Her hair also, is very well done, without being overly strandy and messy. There is the right amount of bounce and curvature signifying her kind of jumping around. We have some seamlines, but they arent visible even from the side, and the go right in the direction of the hair so they arent bothersome. It also is a perfect shade, despite the high color tone, they kept the hair muted as it should be.

I think the last thing would be that many people commented she runs small, this is a bit true, and I put her maybe as a large 1/8, 1/8.5? But she is not completely tiny.

Overall this is an extremely well done figure by Kadokawa! The coloring is defiantly its strongest point, and I appreciate the different use of finishes greatly. She defiantly shines on her own and I cant wait to collect the other girls.

I wish they had more figures of the original Illya in FSN, which was my favorite character and it was such a shame that her route got cut. Well I guess Chloe is supposed to somewhat fulfill a similar role in Prisma Illya, and the magical girl version of Illya is kinda fun haha.
