My name is Shelbie Senpai and I'm the hostess of the Youtube channel and Instagram page of FIGURINE IT OUT!!! Since I have not been able to upload a new Youtube videos for quiet some time, I thought that for now I would do my loot hauls, and figure reviews here on MFC instead.
Welcome to my new article, I hope you enjoy!

*Warning picture and word heavy!*
(There were little to no pictures for these items and I feel they all deserved more photos!)

So, over the years that I have been collecting I have been on the hunt for the trading figures from Girls Bravo S2 ENTRY #9106
Even when I came back into the hobby full force 3 years ago, I knew that I wanted to collect all 10 of the figures from this set. (The 5 normal color versions and the 5 special color versions).

I can remember being 11 years old and first seeing these for sale at my local Hastings. I had never heard of the series before but, was attracted to the pretty pink packaging and character designs. I bought the last 4 that were available and pulled (normal version) ITEM #15055, ITEM #15057, and (special version) ITEM #15059, ITEM #15056. I would eventually get into the series and I am so very happy that these figures got me into the anime!

However, when I stopped collecting in 2010 I packed them away and left them in a closet. Between the time I stopped collecting and eventually picked the hobby back up in 2016 my family and I moved. Unfortunately, some of the boxes weren't secured enough and fell off our trailer, one of them being the box these figures were in.

Picking up collecting again in 2016 I started off small buy purchasing several trading figures that I knew I wanted, from eBay, local sellers, and MFC users. However, majority of them weren't in the best condition and missing their boxes. Eventually it got to the point where I wasn't finding the ones I was missing, and only could find the ones I had already accumulated.

I stopped searching for awhile and concentrated on other parts of my collection, then last week I decided to take a chance and search on Yahoo! Japan. The figure Gods smiled down upon me because there in front of me was a seller selling the ENTIRE COLLECTION! All 5 normal and all 5 special color versions and I did not hesitate on purchasing these beauties!

They arrived and are all now FINALLY in my possession, and making my collection one step closer to being more complete!

Well, enough chit chat for now, let's get to it!

HERE IT IS!
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349066.jpeg

Let's take a look inside! (I love the fact that this Japanese Newspaper has actual manga inserts in it!)https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349067.jpeg

OH MY GOSH! Nostalgia has just slapped me in the face! https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349069.jpeg

I wasn't expecting this at all! The listing said that the package(s) had been opened to inspect contents. So, I was just expecting a bunch of small trading blind boxes. This is such a wonderful surprise and I feel so very lucky to have this small piece of collecting history. Majority of the boxes are long gone, most in dumpsites around the world I'm sure. (If you look you within the yellow circle on the box it states there are 5 normal versions and 5 special versions of the figures, a total of 10 to collect. You can also see how much the figures were suppose to be sold for.)https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349070.jpeg

Back, left, and right side of the product display box.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349072.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349091.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349092.jpeg

The actual trading blind boxes, front, back, and the rest of the sides of the boxes. (Just like the display box if you look at the front of the blind box it states there are 5 normal versions and 5 special versions of the figures, a total of 10 to collect.) (I also have just noticed that the back of the box states for "14 and up" and I was definitely 11 when I first bought these! Haha woops!) https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349095.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349094.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349096.jpeg

Let's take a look at the inside of the boxes! The left side of the display box was all of the normal color versions, and the right was all of the special color versions! Everything is still completely sealed all the way back from 2006! https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349101.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349102.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349100.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349103.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349104.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349110.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349108.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349107.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349106.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349109.jpeg

Let's at last release all these cuties of their plastic prison, and take a good look at them!
First the normal set! (You will notice that most of them come with pvc pillows to help balance the figures, if you don't have all of them.) (ITEM #15055, ITEM #15056, ITEM #15059, ITEM #15057, ITEM #15058)https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349114.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349112.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349111.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349121.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349118.jpeg

An even closer look!
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349116.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349113.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349115.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349117.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349119.jpeg

Now, the special set! (ITEM #15055, ITEM #15056, ITEM #15059, ITEM #15057, ITEM #15058)

Let's compare!
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349158.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349155.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349156.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349150.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349152.jpeg

All together!
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349147.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349148.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/12/16/2349149.jpeg

In closing I am very happy with my purchase and couldn't have asked for these figures to be in better condition. I have seen these figures roughed up, scratched up, and super damaged. With that being said they are trading figures and do come with a few flaws here and there, but this is the best quality/condition that I have ever seen these figures in personally. It's small victories like this that make me love this hobby and being able to share it with like minded people makes it all the better! Please tell me if you have had any small collecting victories recently too! Let me know, I'd love to hear about it!

Maakie5 months ago#76014357I LOVE figures that interact with eachother! <3 Both color variations are nice, but I like the one with see through parts more. Enjoy your figures! ^^

I too love figure that interact with each other. I feel that it's so rare to see that in figures, even with today's companies. I'm partial to the special versions myself as well because they were the hardest to ever locate. Thank you for taking the time to read, I'm glad you enjoyed it! =^.^=

victorviper7 months ago#72039879This was a very interesting article, as it's always neat to see appreciation for older, forgotten items.
Somehow I was thinking that these figures also got bundled with limited edition US DVD releases of Girls Bravo, as Pioneer did that with these ITEM #10349 ITEM #10350 ITEM #10351 ITEM #10352 ITEM #10353 Ai Yori Aoshi trading figures, but I did a little web searching and couldn't find any evidence of that, so I guess my memory was faulty there.
It's also interesting that you mention Hastings. I always appreciated that you could find anime figures and other niche items out in the wild at their stores, and it's unfortunate that company has been a casualty of the overall decline of physical media.
Also, Girls Bravo has always been sort of a nostalgic anime for me. Objectively, it's kind of a dumb fanservice comedy but it's a good dumb fanservice comedy and the character designs were really well done. I've always kind of wanted a figure of Lisa, but all that ever got made were a couple of trading figures. Surely if the show was made today, plenty of figures would accompany it.
Thanks again for the very interesting review!

Hmmm interesting I had never heard of this I double checked myself on this too and couldn't find anything about that.
Yes, Hastings was my absolute favorite place growing up and I was lucky enough to work there for about a year. The same year that the company unfortunately went bankrupt, I still get sad thinking about it. My coworkers and I completely cleaned up and closed it's doors for the last time on October 31st. (I also pulled the foam cat and a foam Hastings set off the wall and had it all hanging up in my game room! The liquidator wasn't happy with me at all when I did that but at that point he couldn't fire me it was literally the last day we were all suppose to work there!)(October 30th was just pure chaos because we were selling everything for a penny that was left in the store.)
It definitely had all the "good dumb fanservice comedy" in it, which made me love the series even more! Miharu and Lisa were my favorites in the series for sure. I do agree that if the series had been created today it would have received more love in the figure department!
Thank you for taking the time to read my article, I'm glad to see you that you enjoyed it!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am planning on adding the big box into my display somehow. It's just too nostalgic and pretty to hide away in a closet somewhere!

galablue7 months ago#72026892Pretty amazing that you found them all sealed. This also just goes to show you that if you don't think the item you've found is good quality/exactly what you're looking for -- wait, because you WILL find exactly what your heart desires.
I've never heard of this source material before, but it was a pleasure hearing you talk about it so fondly. I also really like how the figures all fit together ... ah, yes, just some girl friends having fun!

Thank you, I am super proud and lucky to have found them all still sealed after all of these years!
I totally agree with the whole wait till you find what you’re looking for point of view, especially for my collection. It has taken me years but it was so worth the wait to find them in such wonderful condition!
Oh thank you, I’m so glad you enjoyed reading about my love of this series. It is quite unique how they all fit together, and I love the look of them all together as well!

LemonMIntCat7 months ago#72026001Congrats on finding the figures in sealed condition! Its also very cool that they are meant to be displayed/posed together instead of just on stands. I like trading figures as well and I'm looking for ITEM #75195 in this yellow dress, weirdly enough I found the special black color version but I am waiting on this.

Thank you very much and congratulations on finding item/75195! I have never seen the special version in person but I have seen the rest of the collection in person and found them all quite lovely!

I really do enjoy how they all fit together, I don’t think I’ve seen this with really any other trading figure sets.
