I brought my Nendoroids on vacation and turned it into a Vlog!I brought my Nendoroids on vacation and turned it into a Vlog!

I planned a short vacation with my friends to visit up north Michigan for the week and decided to bring a few of my Nendoroids along; and attempt to photograph them! I made a vlog of our adventures!!

Our main plan was to visit "Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park" and go sledding down the big sand dune, luckily there was a good snow the week prior so we were able to go sledding! We rented a cheap tiny cabin on a lake, the lake was frozen and covered in snow!

We headed up to our cabin after we got out of work and arrived there pretty late at night, so the first day consisted of goofing around a big highway rest stop, Taco Bell, getting pulled over by the police for speeding, then getting locked out of our cabin because the passcode the owner gave us was wrong lol!

The next day - I explored the backyard in the morning and did a quick photoshoot of my Mei and Ashe from "Overwatch". Then we went to a restaurant called the Flap jack Shack and had a really good breakfast :), next we bought some discount sleds and headed over to a nearby game store that sold new and retro games, they also had a little selection of cheaper figures and plushies! I bought a plush of puar from Dragon ball and a Funko-pop that I wanted to destroy (Because it wouldn't be an Episode of Fig Ultra without a Funko pop being obliterated lol!)

After that we drove to a frozen over beach and checked out a cool old lighthouse, by this time the wind picked up and it starting to snow, I wanted to photograph my Rin Shima from Yuru Camp Nendo but the weather made it too difficult! We drove to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National park and geared up for sledding, the big sand dune was coated in a snow, it was a tough climb, but totally worth it, I haven't been sledding since I was a youngster! The wind was strong and was blowing sand a snow in our faces (The next day our faces were wind burned lol!) We each went down the hill twice, it was very tiring, but fun, we crashed a lot!

We stopped by a little shop that sold some super yummy hot cocoa, then we went into downtown Traverse City for some pizza! We each got out own personal pizzas I got a Chicken Alfredo pizza and it was ridiculously good! I took a few shots of Rin Chan drooling over the pizza! We went back to the cabin and spent the rest of the night watching a scary movie (Because of course thats what you do in a cabin in the woods. The movie was awful btw!)

The last day - The snow finally stopped and the sun was out, so I went back into the backyard and took a few quick shots of Rin by the frozen lake before checkout. We ate some left over pizza and started to make our way back home! But there is a big toy store (Galactic Toys in "Grand Rapids Michigan") thats kinda on the way back, so we wanted detour there since there are no good figure shops near our home town!

my friend drover over the Alex Trebek Funk-Pop I bought (he lost his legs!) We all love Jeopardy and Alex, but I thought the pop of him was funny (I dont know why but Funko pops are fun to destroy lol :o) no ill-will to Alex, it was just for fun!!!

The toy store had a pretty good selection, they are a goodsmile licensed retailer so we didn't have to worry about bootlegs! They had a gashapon machine that had little kirby Tea-cups in it, but it costed five dollars for tokens and they didnt say how many coins you got, so we skipped the machine. There was a decent selection of scale figures ranging from anime, video games and of course super heroes, and the prices were pretty fair! There was Vash the Stampede and Wolfwood scale figures from the Anime Trigun that I really wanted to get, along with a scale of Megumin from Konosuba that I liked! They also had a big selection of Nendos and Figmas!

My friend and I's idea was to buy something we normally wouldn't of bought online but sort of wanted A.K.A no shipping (if you know what I mean!) I bought a Nendoroid of "White Blood Cell from the anime Cells at work and a cute little Pokemon terrarium by Re-ment, my friend got a Figma of Guts from the anime Berserk. After toy hunting we stopped by a little desert shop and ate some Macaroons to end our trip!

Overall we had a great time! we got to enjoy the beautiful snow covered scenery, eat some good food, even collect some figures along the way! I was hoping to get more photos of my figures but the weather made it tough. But I'm still happy with the results non the less! I'm happy how the Vlog turned out too, its a lot of fun taking your figures out!!

Hot_Zenny (1 month ago) #75918717I agree, it can be a bit embarrassing and daunting to photograph you figures in a public space, but its something I really enjoy, I get to go outside and play with my camera, plus its fun to find a creative ways to display your figures! No one can take that away from us! Its fun to be weird!
I also had to look up what a Kigurumi was, and now I will be ordering one this weekend lol :)

Definitely, I don't keep my Nendos out at home anymore because of my pets having some weird affinity to PVC so I want to get one of those Nendo pouches to start taking them out again...

Aye! Kigus are great, they double as PJs and Halloween costumes or just random lounging outfits heh. I have Tigger, Charmander, and a Unicorn Skeleton myself*~

Cuda (1 month ago) #75893061So true. If anyone gives you a funny look, who the hell cares! As long as you're having fun I say ^___^
I have enough social anxiety as it is, so I just figure to hell with it and usually do/wear/w.e I want in public now, not to the extent of being rude, offensive, or impolite of course; but I've taken my Gintama plushies, some Nendos, my doggo everywhere at this point, and I'll wear my Kigurumis anywhere (they comfy!) ...
Looks like it was a fun trip!

lesser-robot-cat (1 month ago) #75891598It is fun to take Nendoroids with you on trips like that. You get photo opportunities you wouldn't have in your house, and if anyone gives you a funny look, it doesn't matter because you'll never see them again.
