EDIT: MFC seems to have fixed this problem!

hey guys,

have you ever had an issue on here where some pictures will just refuse to upload? this has happened to me once or twice before when i was uploading figure photos and i seem to have just lost one ... but now i'm trying to upload a photo of some books i got and it just will NOT upload. i have tried several times and each time it says it's successful but when i go to locate the picture it does not exist. does anyone have any idea why this is happening? or how i can get around it?

i've clicked to upload it, not named it, not placed it in an album, but i have selected "items" as it's category. i've tried three times now and it just refuses to appear.

thanks in advance!

galablue6 months ago#76582983I am so glad they did!! My picture was only 2MIB according to MFC so I was going crazy.
Now everyone can enjoy my random picture xD

It was driving me crazy too but apparently there's a bug forum so as soon as I saw other people were having the problem it wasn't just me

Yeah I noticed it too a few days ago. I don't know what causes it; the same picture refused to upload no matter what I tried, while a different pictures went through just fine. Even tried downsizing it but still wouldn't upload.

Thank god it's not just me... I thought I was going insane.

It seems in the bug thread that this is happening a lot. Won't let me upload pretty much anything. Seems its a glitch that needs to be fixed.

Don't forget that the valid file size is 4 MB (and that the value reported by your phone/computer correlates to 1024 KiB per 1 MiB, whereas MFC uses 1000 KB per 1 MB)! In essence, it may appear that your 3.92 "MiB" (almost always wrongly displayed as "MB") image is small enough. In actuality, it's real file size is 4,110,417.92 bytes, or 4.11 MB according to MFC's standard of counting.

Edit: fixed errors in representing KibiBytes/MebiBytes
Edit #2: added image of real file as an example

galablue6 months ago#76551404I will try that. I have a quick question that maybe you guys can expand upon. I take all of my pictures with my iPhone, so why have only like 2-3 of them been too big when I'm taking them with the same camera and typically at the same time as the others?

I use a google pixel 2 Xl to take my pictures and it does the same thing, it won't upload any pictures I take with my phone on it's side. I suppose it's the width the camera takes it at, it just increases the size over the amount MFC allows.

MFC doesn't give me an error or tell me my files are too large, it just won't upload until I resize it.
