Even though this site is about collecting goods, and this might be an unpopular opinion, but I think it's okay for you to move on! Sure, you might keep the merchandise for memories sake but if it's mentally bogging you down, I think it's time to throw in the towel.

We all grow up and our preferences change but that's okay!! Keep the good memories and forget about the angst you have yourself about keeping these stuff. If anime nowadays doesn't excite you, then it'll be liberating for you to free up your space and life from it.

I seem to be slowing down too.
But because I sometimes don't know what to watch and put up anime with cows and horses. Gotta download some instead of just streaming.

You may find you recover from your burnout one day. About 10 years ago I got mega-obsessed with Hetalia, to the point I needed to stop watching it. I started to get annoyed with the fandom as well. I haven't watched a single episode or read a single manga page probably since 2011 and there's at least 1 or 2 seasons I haven't watched. Just a few weeks ago when I was unpacking stuff, I flipped through the manga again, a volume I probably read over 10 times as a teen. I actually enjoyed reading it again and found myself feeling like I was catching up with an old friend. I'll never have the foaming-at-the-mouth zeal I had for it back then, but I think I can enjoy it casually now. In a few years, maybe you'll be able to watch anime again. I would also try watching older anime. That way you won't get burned out by any hype.

Well, its not like you HAVE to be crazy over anime, comics, manga or movies etc. Just watch what you enjoy. The fact that you still can enjoy some anime productions does mean that it is not as if you lost your taste buds :D

Something that might help from my own personal experience. There was a time when I watched about 4 or 5 movies, mainly Hollywood, per week. After a little while, I found myself a bit tired with the content. So I started watching foreign movies. After a little while, I was bored of that too. Everything just seemed derivative, or just too hard to enjoy.

Then there were other things that took place at the time, and I didn't really get a chance to watch any movies for a few months. Even then, perhaps one or two, but nothing I watched seriously. After about a year or two later, I remember sitting down to watch a movie and I found myself actually enjoying it. I didn't have much time like before, so I would only get a chance to see a movie or two per week. I found that this rate kept things fresh. Since then, I must have added more than 100 titles to my collection.

Something that I came to realize is that moderation is important to keep the enjoyment. So while you do not find much enjoyment with anime now, just give it a break. Come back later after a few months (you may not need couple years like me haha), and then make a decision. You might also be able to decide what merch you want and what you do not want more clearly when you do that.
