Current Situations With Collecting, and Some Future PlansCurrent Situations With Collecting, and Some Future PlansDiary

It was kind of strange; one day work was carrying on as usual, and a few days later we were closing indefinitely and I was laid off until April. Normally, I'd be more than happy to have some time off work. I'd go for a walk in town, do a little shopping or browsing, grab a drink at my favorite coffee bar, maybe go to the gym if I was feeling up to it. But now everything is closed in order to slow the spread of the virus, which means all I can do for the time being is take walks, and my shopping will be limited until work re-opens.

Looking back, I had a sinking feeling everything would be closing until this whole mess was sorted out, but I never thought it would happen so fast. Never would I have imagined it would reach the little town I live in. But when it did happen, that's when I knew it was serious.

It's been a bit of an adjustment, not having to get up and go to work on certain days of the week, but I've been keeping busy... and away from others.

I got my paycheck from my boss not long ago, and I applied for unemployment for the time being, so I'll have at least a little extra spending cash until I can go back to work, but I can't blow all of it on that fancy plastic I've been eyeing or any shiny little enamel that catches my attention for a multitude of reasons.

For one, it doesn't feel right to blow the money I'll get from the government on my hobby right now. I work to support it, but since I can't work right now, I feel like I should be spending it on more important things like food, or save it for when I really need it. Not sure if this is a good analogy, but it's like when you're parents give you some money and you waste it on something that you regret a lot later. That's what it would feel like for me if I use my money for collecting. I'm not very good at planning ahead, but that's what I'm trying to do right now.

Another reason is because my trip to Chicago near the end of May is coming up fast. I planned to work these next couple of months to gather up the funds for the hotel, while also spending a little here and there on something I really want, but now a massive wrench has been thrown into that plan. Despite everything, I'm still looking forward to my trip, and hearing some experts speculate that the virus might slow down when exposed to warm temperatures has given me some hope. There is some things I'd maybe get before my little vacation, but the clock is ticking and I need to really think through each purchase now.

As for my collection, nothing has been added too recently, but I did find ITEM #753842 when I went shopping with my aunt a few months ago. As far as prize figures go, this one is decent. I don't have to room for a decent scale of Deku right now, but that might change in the future.

I also got the MHA Nitotan Vol 2 set in February as well. I saw the League Trio and immediately melted. I stopped melting when I opened them up and saw Toga's hair, however.

I bought them on a whim from Aitai Kuji. This will be the last time I do that. I looked through all the bags and found nothing. I got an extra stand piece, but no messy bun. Thanks a million -_-

The smart thing to do would be to file a claim, which I've been meaning to do, but for some reason I haven't been able to work up the motivation for it. Maybe it's because I want to try making a new for her when I finally get a mold kit for her. I've wanted to make my own stuff for a while, but I'll be sure to get some pointers and maybe a refund (or at least a partial refund) before I get started.

Also if someone could tell me how to remove icons it would really help me out.

But in the meantime, I'll just stay home, away from any who are not my immediate family for the time being. After the rule has been lifted, I'm going to go on a nice, long shopping spree and go for a long walk. For my collection, I've made some decisions about some items I'm willing to let go to make room for others in my collection. Namely ITEM #16110, ITEM #42026, and ITEM #145147. I like these characters, but in retrospect they were definitely bought on impulse. I want to get better at planning ahead and saving up for a figure I really want, so once this all dies down, I'll put up ads for them to make room for some other stuff I want to buy. Look forward to that.

Speaking of stuff I've bought, I've only pre-ordered ITEM #806036 and ITEM #871661 through GSC. Hopefully that wasn't a mistake because I've heard some people's pre-orders got lost, and with things being how they are, I'm paranoid that will happen with my El. I guess I'll just have to wait and hope.

Now since I've said that, I've been thinking long and hard about what I want new thing I want to swap out the old for. It's still a ways away, but ITEM #919635 has caught my interest. I won't give anything away for those dodging spoilers, but she's a wonderful character, and one of my favorite new additions to Royal. That aside, there isn't very many scales I want at the moment. When it comes to Nendos, however, ITEM #872607 is one I'm certainly going to buy. I'm always impressed at how the painters and sculptors capture every minute detail on those little figures, but Bayo's seems to be on a whole nother' level. But since April is fast approaching, I'll be sure to snag ITEM #806053 since she's been on my list for a long time now.

This got a bit longer and more ramble-y than I thought, but it felt good to get it all out there. It's almost April, hopefully I'll be able to return to work sometime then. If we're stuck doing takeout or delivery only indefinitely I won't complain... I just hope I won't be stuck as a delivery driver.
