-Introduction-

Hi,MFC. I've been waiting for an awesome Kimono for ages. Now it's here. ITEM #851427
I didn't watch the anime so it's purely an appreciation of traditional costume.
I hope you love the the worst spirit in the best kimono.

-Overview-

On the surface, Kurumi is a sadistic and wild spirit.
But her personality is way more complex than you might expected.
View spoilerHide spoiler
According to Fandom, "She is a skilled actress as she is capable of putting on the facade of an innocent, curious young girl when she needs to."... but she has"a good sign of her sense of justice lies in her", direct quote from the page.
date-a-live.fan...

Most of the time, she murders with justifications so she is really mad but likable character
to audiences.

Her signature is a pair of guns. A musket and a flintlock which resemble the minute hand and the hour hand of a clock respectively. That perfectly matches with her abilities to manipulate time which I see as an impressive character design.

Overall quality is superb, you can clearly see that just by a glance.
Perfect proportion, great shading and vibrant colors.
Stunning details are shown on the layers, prints, wrinkles as well as hair accessory and the weapons. The pair of Geta(sandals) are tiny and cute.

The flintlock shows delicate details, not just the mechanical parts but an ema hooked on it to match her outfit is a nice touch!

How she would look like on film pictures. With Fujifilm's Vivid profile.

This type of Kimono is classified as Furisode "振袖", literally mean swinging sleeves, highlighting the characteristic of such. These kimonos come with long hanging sleeves, almost like a pair of wings. It shows status with highest level of formality, usually worn by young and unmarried noble ladies.
On top of that, the Obi waistband is ofcuz the best in class.
Long hem and the extended Furi indicates that Kurumi is absolutely top notch :D

More accurately, Kurumi's kimono is a Hikizuri "引きずり" the drag-along. It comes with long hem reaching the ground, dragging along. This is worn indoors by performers like Geisha and dancers. It's basically high-end furisode with extended hems .

Face close-up shots. The clock in the pupil of her left eye represents her life force.
For a 1/7 the details are shockingly impressive. You could clearly read the "time".

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/07/07/2470674.jpeg

Musket unequipped to show you the nice finishes.
But the paint is a bit too plasticky to my liking.

It's unusual for me to admire a character from an anime I had never watched.
Kurumi is just elegant and glamorous in this luxurious yet classy kimono.

You might have noticed that another kimono Oiran Ver. is coming. But Oiran is such a "dark" theme for girls ITEM #851342 ...Therefore, I usually prefer Kurumi on the bright side.

-Rating-

Sculpting 10/10
Stunning, so much details on the clothes and it's faithful to traditional kimono construction.

Painting 9/10
Just on point shading and vivid color scheme to emphasize her character. But the wooden wrapping of the guns and the ema feel plasticky.

Posing 7/10
Beautiful stance but kimono in general really limits the postures. Not much to comment on.

Base 7/10
Flat plate with lotus print to match the outfit.

Packing 7/10
Kadokawa standard which is a missed opportunity cuz I think Kurumi deserves a luxury "collector box set" kinda packing for such an epic figure.

Enjoyment 8/10
Classy style. The best Kurumi figure imo.
Although I love it, 17500 yen for a non cast-off is unduly steep.
I never like Kadokawa's pricing.

-Verdict-

Whom is this figure for?

Kimono lovers + Kurumi fans.
If you are both of them, this is a good purchase for you.
Otherwise, the C/P value might be a concern.

I hope you enjoy your time with Tokisaki Kurumi.

Nice to begin reviewing with such a top-notch Kurumi!!
Congrats! She is gorgeous!! She arrived safely and beautifully!!
I would love to share more nice figures with you.

Thank you for reading!

I am very glad to begin my scale figure collection with Kurumi! I am still a student so I had to choose the best figure (well, Tohka was the best and I saw your review and suddenly Kurumi was also the best…).

It is always stressful to receive a package with a fragile item inside but she could not be damaged with the protections Yorokonde put.

I read all of your reviews as soon as I see the notification. It is always a good moment!

When I will receive Tohka, I will take some pictures with them.

Your reviews are definitely a good way to discover new figures. The notification system is very convenient to follow your work.
I discovered recently MFC, I created my account almost the first time I saw this website. I think it is very useful to manage my collection (well, my future collection...). Moreover, there are a lot of beautiful photos and many instructive articles! But it is dangerous for my wallet...

Indeed, I started spending much since I joined MFC. Careful Now!

I've some released figs stuck in Japan cuz the EMS service shut down. Feel a bit lonely.
