Hello MFC! And welcome to another blog in my collection series! These blogs cover figures from my collection that have been in storage for a long time due to my emigration. One Coin Grande Figure Collection Moetan ENTRY #93641

I bought and reviewed the full original color set BLOG #42470 a while back. Although I'm not actively hunting them, I randomly came across two of the color variants for affordable prices, so I scooped them up. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to complete the color variants for this set.

Moetan - Nijihara Ink - New Color Edition Princess Ink: ITEM #10224

I bought this one for dirt cheap (100 or 200 yen?) with only the description that she had 'some' damage. I didn't know it was this bad though... I bought her re-bagged and this is the first time opening her.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581380.jpeg

I really wonder what her previous owner did to her, how do you even manage to scrape off so much of the paint on her dress? Did a pet bite on her?

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581381.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581382.jpeg

She's also pretty sticky and dirty, so I will be washing her after this.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581383.jpeg

Her crown is also missing one of it's ornaments.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581380.jpeg

I don't regret buying this figure because it was so cheap, but if I find another one affordably for sale some day, this one will be thrown into my customize-fodder pile.

In general, I find this color variation of the figure a bit odd as well, the colors of the dress are very out there and clash a bit (especially the purple), so it doesn't feel fitting with the pastel-color of Ink's hair.

Moetan - Pastel Ink - Special color edition Red Maid: ITEM #26093

I was a bit scared of what I would be encountering with this one after the damages on Princess Ink, but it luckily wasn't that bad.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581384.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581385.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581386.jpeg

She has some dirt and paint transfers, but overall looks pretty good, except for a bit of the paint decal missing on her right eye. I also like the color combination of this one.

Strike Witches Mame Figure Collection - Miyafuji Yoshika (Liquid Stone): ITEM #11273

I had never heard of this manufacturer or the 'mame' figure type before, so I didn't really know what to expect. I found a sealed copy of this figure for very cheap, so assumed there was not much to lose. Looking up what 'mame' means brought me to a type of beans in Japan. 'Mame figure' just lead to other types of cute figures showing. I'm assuming it just means something like 'cuties' (cute beans as they say in some countries)?

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581387.jpeg

The unboxed figure got me confused right away. The prototype figure had some clear gaps where it seemed like the figure could move around/be a sort-of action figure (turning waist and arms), but this one was stuck! I also remember earlier thinking that her variant ITEM #99571 might be the only one with moving parts, but nope! So was this figure originally designed to have movable parts and when that turned out to be too much effort/costs they just dropped that idea and went ahead with keeping the sculpt???

My specific copy of this figure has a pretty big paint defect of forgotten white paint on her right arm. The rest of the paint is so-so for the price and size. I am just mainly annoyed at those non-joints being visible!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581388.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581389.jpeg

The base is of good quality and the tail looks cute!

Still, this whole figure and release is just...weird. Luckily when displayed on a shelf with other figures, her defects including small paint errors are not that glaring.

Mecha Musume - Ms-462 - Mecha Musume Figumate (Konami): ITEM #9394

I had bought this loose Ms-462 figure before buying the complete Figumate set later. Considering I hadn't come across my whole set yet during my unpacking, I decided to open up this one.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581390.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581391.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581392.jpeg

Especially her glasses and painting look good. A cute representation of Ms-462!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581393.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581394.jpeg

The only downside of this figure is that it's really hard to let her keep holding her plane, so the slightest bit of movement will let her drop it.

________________________________________________________________________________

Chrono Crusade - Rosette Christopher - C-Model - Dragon Heroine Festival - Dragon Heroine Selection (2) (MegaHouse): ITEM #11153

This figure was gifted to me by my friend CYREN , as this figure is so rare I was so happy to receive it as an unexpected gift!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581395.jpeg

Here is the figure in her most basic look and with the parts you can swap out/add on.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581396.jpeg

You need to use the additional front and back hair pieces so that she is able to wear her nun's cap.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581397.jpeg

There are lots of very good details on this smaller and older figure, I especially like how the top piece of her dress looks.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581398.jpeg

The movement of the skirt is also very nice!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581399.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581400.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581401.jpeg

The arms can be moved up and down (although putting them up too high blocks you from seeing her face).

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581402.jpeg

Even the tiny necklaces have the needed detail. A very highly recommended trading figure for Chrono Crusade fans!

Fushigi no Kuni no Alice - Alice - POP Wonderland Pop Ehon Figure Collection Vol.1 - Alice Enlarged (System Service): ITEM #22568

This figure I got as part of the secret santa gift exchange 5 years ago. I own and have reviewed the POP Wonderland #2 Little Red Riding Hood ENTRY #25822 / BLOG #40292 and POP Wonderland #3 Thumbelina ENTRY #25821 / BLOG #40142 sets. I however did not know much about the Alice set!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581403.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581404.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581405.jpeg

I was surprised to see this figure came in a box, as the other two POP Wonderland sets are gashapons.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581406.jpeg

Alice is huge! Yes, I know this is the figure of her getting enlarged, but this was a lot bigger than I expected!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581407.jpeg

The figure has really nice overall paint and I love the gradient in her hair.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581408.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581409.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581410.jpeg

The book-base is also bigger than the other POP Wonderland figures I own. It makes me wonder why they decided to downgrade in size and quality after the firs set, maybe because it helped with sales to make them gashapon instead?

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581411.jpeg

It's of course part of the story that Alice is too big to fit, but it still feels a bit odd that I can't let her hand rest somewhere on the base with any display option I tried. I hope it won't lean over time.

Complete set of Moetan Capsule Figure ENTRY #201289

And for the last part of this blog I decided to unbox a trading figure set I had sealed up in my storage for a while!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581412.jpeg

The front of the booklet shows all figures in this set. Most of them are small diorama's.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581413.jpeg

The backside has some English lessons and copyright information.

Moetan - Ah-kun & Nijihara Ink - picnic: ITEM #26181

These figures officially don't have titles, so I made some to make the differences between them more clear.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581414.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581415.jpeg

These are older and smaller figures that are far from perfect, but they are really adorable. My up-close photography actually does them dirty instead of just looking at them with your own eyes.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581416.jpeg

I love the tiny food and drinks!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581417.jpeg

Ah-kun is enjoying himself as well!

Moetan - Pastel Ink: ITEM #26184

The only Pastel Ink in this set with the others being Nijihara Ink!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581418.jpeg

The base reads "Pastel Ink is here! Prepare your heart to be disciplined!" on a set of learning cards.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581419.jpeg

I really like how this figure is sideways inserted into the base, I don't think I've seen or owned any trading figure doing this!

The figure also packs some amazing detail and shading for being 15+ years old!

Moetan - Ah-kun & Nijihara Ink - heart to heart: ITEM #9364

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581420.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581421.jpeg

This one is really impressive when it comes to coloring and showing emotion.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581422.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581423.jpeg

I love Ink's posing and Ah-kun looks so cute as well.

Moetan - Nijihara Ink - undressed pajamas: ITEM #26182

And now for the most controversial one in this set, which I'll put behind a spoiler so this blog can remain SFW: View spoilerHide spoiler

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581424.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581425.jpeg

Ink in a state of undress from her pajamas. This figure wouldn't have bothered me much if it was Ink undressing herself, but this just gives off some bad vibes.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581426.jpeg

Her outfit and underwear is so cute though, I wish she looked a bit more confident and/or innocent. This figure is very out of character.

Moetan - Ah-kun & Nijihara Ink - paint diorama: ITEM #9366

This one is my favorite from the whole set, there is so much happening at all times here! There are also multiple ways to assemble this figure with both Ah-kun and Ink being possible to lean in other directions.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581428.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581429.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581430.jpeg

Ink's expression is adorable as well!

And now for all those details:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581427.jpeg

Ah-kun is getting splattered by blue paint that comes from a bucket that has seemingly just fallen of the step Ink is using.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581431.jpeg

Ink's tipping step seems to have also knocked over the yellow paint.

The base shows a nice stone pattern and two additional paint brushes.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581432.jpeg

The wall behind Ink is getting painted blue.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581433.jpeg

The step Ink is sitting on has a wood grain pattern as well.

You can also see here that the figure has some painting errors, but I find it very acceptable compared to how the rest of the figure looks.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581434.jpeg

The step and Ink being off-center is held up by one big, sturdy peg at the back.

Bonus: Two repaints from the Mecha Musume Vol. 3 (Konami) ENTRY #25243

When I was buying some other Mecha Musume items a while back, a seller was so kind as to include two bonus figures, which actually were rare repaints! However, these figures didn't come with their bases, making me not able to properly display them until I either make a base myself or find someone selling additional bases from this set.

Spitfire Mk.V Repaint: ITEM #9372

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581435.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581436.jpeg

The darker color of her jacket looks good on her!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581437.jpeg

Bf109G Repaint: ITEM #9371

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581438.jpeg

I like the darker color of her hair and the more bold colors on the legs!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581439.jpeg

A very determined face!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581440.jpeg

Nice gradient on the paint of the tail as well.

Overall, it's nice that I managed to get these two figures for free. Especially with how rare these repaints are I'm thinking it might be cheaper to buy doubles from this set and use their bases rather than trying to buy these repaints. For now I have locked them against the back of my display shelf so they are standing upright.

Update on the collection display

And here are my currently set up displays with the figures inside them that I have been covering in these blogs recently!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581445.jpeg

Update from my earlier uploaded picture PICTURE #2571593 ,still did not fix that light, sorry.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581446.jpeg

Here are the Moetan cuties discussed in this blog, just look at how tiny that CM's Corporation set is!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581447.jpeg

Weird mini-Yoshika has joined my what is on my Yoshika shelf so far.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581448.jpeg

A lot of figures are currently quite eclectically placed because I don't have enough space to already sort them by subject as only half of my display cabinets is set up now.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581449.jpeg

These two guys look great when displayed together.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2020/12/13/2581455.jpeg

For the people wondering why some of my bottom shelves look 'dirty', it's actually paint that has come off from the wood during my move. I'll have to think some more about how I'll fix it. Or maybe I won't, because I have also been thinking about fabric covers on every shelf.

And to finish it!

For those who read all this way, thank you! My next blog will probably be another entry for this blog type!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, you could also check my other ones when interested! As promised, for every new blog I would fix the image hosting of an older blog. As they are referenced in this blog I have fixed:

POP Wonderland #3 Thumbelina trading figure set (System Service): BLOG #40142

Sazako6 months ago#88773861Very Cute Makkie,
Its interesting to look back back in time to see how character design and figure production techniques have evolved from back then.

Yeah, these items make me feel so nostalgic and happy! Although I am a bit shocked at some people calling them retro haha. Am I that old?!

darkfader5 months ago#89231593I love the Moetan figures!
That one princess paint issue may because the paint itself was difficult to apply somehow? I also have one with what seems like a light scrape on the back. But on the front it seems like one patch is slightly thicker as if they painted over it a bit to correct it.

Yes, all of the trading figures are so cute!

I also have the normal variant ITEM #4782 and she looks pretty good: PICTURE #2186280 + PICTURE #2186281 , so it might be rather that the paint is easy to scratch? So if you're not super careful and/or unlucky with the manufacturing process, the princess one can turn out worse than the others from the set? All that metallic paint is put on there very thick!

Bah-Roo6 months ago#88466063Well, I wasn’t really thinking about if there would be a market for it or not - it was my own selfish wish, heh. But I think it could be refreshing/interesting to see. You know how fashion comes back around every few decades or so? Like how stuff that became old-fashioned occasionally comes back as something that is now cool and trendy. It’d be interesting to see something like that with anime, both in styles and storytelling. Probably won’t happen, but still. It’s interesting to think about. Either looking to the past for inspiration, or looking to the future and continuing to evolve (I wonder what the next new trends and fads will be in anime? Who’s knows. All I know is that I am kinda tired of certain things, eg isekai and idol anime, lol)
Thanks for the links! I love Re-Ment and some of those sets you linked are super cute! My favourite was this one, lol ITEM #969405

Hehe, it's just because it reminded me of when they announced this set ENTRY #104331 which got tons of praise, but almost nobody ended up buying it. X_X It's similar for me though. I think the idea is great, but personally I'm not into Street Fighter enough to buy such pieces.

Well, there seems to be quite a following nowadays for 'nostalgic' anime and similar merchandise, mostly 90's and early 00's stuff (for example this club here CLUB #1891 ). Although maybe for some people that specific aesthetic also means buying the 'real' older goods.

Re-ment keeps on making very cute and creative sets! I always love to browse through their new additions in the database. :)

Maakie6 months ago#88465668I would buy re-issues with nowadays qualities of all my favorite trading figures for sure! :D I do however wonder how much market there is for it. I know it makes a lot of people nostalgic, but how much people would really buy it? What comes most close nowadays is Re-Ment ENTRY #7736 , next to the miniatures they're famous for, they also regularly make small diorama sets and trading figures from 'older' franchises. Some recent releases I really like are:
ENTRY #201089
ENTRY #195723
ENTRY #197634
ENTRY #197637
Yes, still lots to set up, both with another wall of cabinets and filling up these! :D Lots of fun to do! ^^

Bah-Roo6 months ago#88464398I miss that old school/moe anime style that you see in these trading figures. They make for cute designs, it’d be nice to see some figures (and even character designs/illustrations in general) return to that style in this modern day and age where the quality of figures has improved. I know anime styles have evolved/changed over time but it’d be cool to see a resurgence of old trends now and then, just for a fun throwback :)
Looks like you’ve got a lot of setting up to do with those display cases! They look awesome, btw. Just need to fill ‘em up now :D

RPG_FAN1286 months ago#88437942Wow! That is an impressive quantity of trading figures! The only trading figures I have are a few Etrian Odyssey ones just because I love those games. :)

I used to be a trading figure collector before I moved to scaleds and other pricier goods! :) So lots more trading figure unboxing to come in upcoming blogs!

The early 2000's were such a good time for trading figures, lots of very unique sets have been made.

victorviper6 months ago#88401705It's always interesting to look at Shimada's designs and see how some of the earlier concepts evolved into later characters - ITEM #9394 definitely gives off a Lynette vibe.

Yes, definitely! I have been thinking about displaying some 'prototype' on the shelf of their matching character, for example ITEM #4714 on Gertrud ENTRY #2021 her shelf. :)

It's always interesting to look at Shimada's designs and see how some of the earlier concepts evolved into later characters - ITEM #9394 definitely gives off a Lynette vibe.

About this blog

Welcome to my figure-blog!

I mostly write reviews for this blog, since I like to read and write those kind of articles the most! I also think of them as very useful for other collectors and Japan enthusiasts!

Next to that, I also write tutorials for GK's, loot blogs, cosplay and convention-related articles and guides for hobby-related subjects...just take a look!

I hope you enjoy my articles and feel free to rate and leave comments! :)
