Hello MFC! And welcome to another blog in my collection series! These blogs cover figures from my collection that have been in storage for a long time due to my emigration. I also use this as an opportunity to practice with my new camera and also appreciate the items I have been owning for a longer time!
The figures we are going to look at today:
Strike Witches prize figures:
x Strike Witches - Gertrud Barkhorn - EX Figure (SEGA): ITEM #85330
x Strike Witches 2 - Miyafuji Yoshika - High Grade Figure (Vol. 4) (SEGA): ITEM #179246
The complete set of Mecha Musume Vol. 1 (Konami) ENTRY #25242 (including all repaints):
x Ms-462 ITEM #7241
x Ms-462 Repaint ITEM #9419
x Type G ITEM #7237
x S3AG Tank Girl (Type G Repaint) ITEM #9421
x Valentine ITEM #7240
x P-60 ITEM #7239
x Shinden ITEM #7238
x Shinden Repaint ITEM #9420

Strike Witches prize figures:

It's interesting to see how SEGA's prize figure boxes have evolved! Barkhorn is from 2012 and Yoshika from 2014. This was my first time unboxing both of them.
Strike Witches 2 - Miyafuji Yoshika - High Grade Figure (Vol. 4) (SEGA): ITEM #179246

Unfortunately Yoshika came with a snapped propeller right out of the box. My fix isn't very clean, it would need some repainting to be (near) invisible. As I hadn't come across my painting supplies yet during my unpacking, this is on my back-burner list.

Here she is fully assembled! Definitely a high quality prize figure!

The details on the gun are pretty nice! At first I thought my copy had an issue with her right hand not fitting correctly on the handle, but looking at pictures of other owners, it seems like this is common with all copies.

I like how her eyes and the decal on her shirt look. The movement in her shirt is nice as well.

The Striker Units pack quite some details.

You can get a good look at the bathing suit from below.
Strike Witches - Gertrud Barkhorn - EX Figure (SEGA): ITEM #85330

Straight out of the box it was clear that this is a figure you should display on a higher shelf, as she looks very much downwards. I think this comes from her original sculpt and base that were supposed to have her leaning a bit backwards PICTURE #333956 . They changed the base and her placement, but seemingly didn't change anything to the main figure sculpt.

However, this figure is definitely very badass looking! Lots of details on the legs and a very determined face!

All the details are very above average compared to my other Strike Witches prize figures.

I like the line work on the Striker Units. I'm surprised they even did this for a prize figure!

However, this figure is not perfect. It's (luckily!) hard to see from the front, but she has some fitting issues with both of her arms, the right arm being the worst offender on my copy of this figure.
I still think this is a very recommendable figure for SW/Barkhorn fans!

The complete set of Mecha Musume Vol. 1 (Konami) ENTRY #25242 (including all repaints)
5+ years ago I made a big proxy order BLOG #20246 , in which was an auction included that had all the Mecha Musume Vol. 1 figures including the repaints, the only downside was that their original boxes all got flattened and no outer box was present anymore. Considering how hard it is to get repaints from these trading figure sets, I was not complaining though!
Ms-462 ITEM #7241

Ms-462 is a cute girl in a maid outfit with minimal references of the mecha being part of her (example: her ribbons). In that regard she is quite different from most other Mecha Musume girls.

The execution is not perfect, but she looks very good for the figure it's age (15 years old).

Ms-462 Repaint ITEM #9419

The figure's repaint comes in a toned down brown-greenish-grey main color of the dress. I like the original color more, as this one blends a bit too much with the rest of the color palette.
Type G ITEM #7237

Type G is based on a German military tank. I'm really enjoying the high amount of details on this figure! She has a lovely jacket.

The back of those legs look amazing!

Those tiny black bases are dust magnets! Luckily barely visible in person.
S3AG Tank Girl (Type G Repaint) ITEM #9421
For Type G's Repaint, they used the same sculpt as her main figure, but made it the character S3AG Tank Girl.

I really love this recolor! The figure looks so much better in camo!

There are so much nice details in the sculpt, such as the individual buttons on her shirt, her pockets and all those straps!

Her glasses are a bit too thick looking, but that's not uncommon for these type of figures, especially when they're older.

Valentine ITEM #7240
Two figures from this set come without a recolor, one of them is Valentine, based on a British military tank.

As this figure looks a bit downwards, she is best displayed on higher shelves.

Her posing is very cute and I love that her barrel is a separate shoulder bag.

She also comes with a small bag in which an item packed in the Union Jack is visible. I read into the tank's history, but couldn't place if this references to a specific event or part of the original tank.

Nice details on the tank legs and outfit as well. I really like the knee socks!
P-60 ITEM #7239
P-60 is based on a Soviet airplane. Her clothes design reminds me a lot of who later would become Sanya ENTRY #2031 in Strike Witches. This is the other figure from this set without a color variant.

Lots of detail to see here! I love all the visible pleats on the skirt!

The plane is very shiny!

I love the small handgun on her thigh!

Shinden ITEM #7238

Shinden is based on a Japanese prototype fighter plane. I like how the figure comes with both plane legs and a loose plane. The plane itself is hard to position on her hand, though!

My specific copy has some fitting issue for the top half of the body into the lower half of the body.

The back of the hair on my copy of this figure has some degraded paint, possibly from being sealed in plastic for 15+ years. How it looks reminds me of what was happening to my recently unboxed Yuit ITEM #6425 / BLOG #47029 .

I really like her expression. I wonder if she's sad based on the fact that she was a prototype that was flown a couple of times, and never actually used in the war. Or maybe I am overthinking this.
Shinden Repaint ITEM #9420
Her repaint is almost the same figure, except for some small changes:

Her main outfit is now green and the he sword has a slightly different color as well. Specifically for my copy, I now don't have paint degradation at the back of her hair, but here it's happening on her bangs.
The legs show thunder strikes, referencing her nickname "Magnificent Lightning".

She comes without the big back propeller. I also find it interesting to see here how this copy of almost the same figure has almost no defects on the back of her hair.
And that was it for Volume 1 of all the Mecha Musume trading figures! A very recommendable set for people that like these kind of character designs.
And to finish it!
For those who read all this way, thank you! My next blog will be another entry for this blog type!

I recently picked up ITEM #177604, and it brought to mind a number of "if only they made this as a figure" ideas. I like the red, white, and blue outfit for Shirley and the jacket/scarf combo is a good look for Lucchini :).
Maybe when I have found them and cover them in a blog you will? ;) They originally weren't on my 'must buys' either and I only got them when I found a good opportunity to get them all 3 second hand from another MFC user. I am especially impressed with Shirley her quality, and in general I can't really point out any flaws with them.
Oh wow! I love both their outfits on that artwork! In general Shirley in hotpants, no matter which top, would be great!! I almost picked up ITEM #900055 recently, but then I remembered how the price dropped for the previous one and it got reprints, so I'm going to wait to grab a second hand copy. By coincidence, seems like an user here uploaded a page from that artbook with very nice casual clothes as well PICTURE #2403323 ! Getting more figures from the girls in these kind of outfits would be so nice as well!
Good point about the Aquamarine bunnies. For whatever reason, none of those figures really grabbed me to gain membership in that "must-get" category.

Ah! I didn't realize you were collecting these little ones as well! Will be covering more of them in upcoming blogs. :)
*edit* Wow, I now see on your profile you own one of the rare bunnies!! Cool! :D
I really wish more SW figures would have been made with the characters wearing alternate clothing, but about all we got on that front was ITEM #99028, ITEM #315078, and a couple beach figures here and there.
When at one point I decided I would dedicate one display shelf to each main Witch, I started buying those figures. As I managed to get most for in between $10 and $20, I thought they were good purchases. I only maybe regret buying some of the side characters as I won't be making separate shelves for them. So right now I have one shelf of 'sides', which I am not sure if I want to keep on display like that. But I'll unpack all of my other stuff first before making any decisions.
You forgot the Aquamarine bunnies ITEM #396977 ! :) And more recently we also got ITEM #1046509 announced. But yes, some more casual clothes or outfits based on official art would be nice. I would love to see Minna in her red dress as a figure!
