Hi Everyone! It's my first time posting about gks. Let's get into it!
This is Nazo no Heroine XX, one of my favorite characters from Fate/Grand Order. She's really cute and funny and I had to build this kit when I saw it. I linked the entry on the right.
I bought this kit from Mandarake online website. At that time I just got to know the difference between recasts and original kits, and I bought this one as my first original kit. Btw, this is a picture of the e2046 Sakura recast I bought and painted before knowing the difference:

Anyways, I loved the sculpt and bought the kit, and it arrived only 5 days after. When I opened it and checked the parts, I was shocked. The quality of the kit was beyond horrible! Look at this atrocious air bubble:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601282.jpeg

I didn't take pictures of this part but the entire gray part is the air bubble I filled up:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601298.jpeg
I had to fill the bubble and then scribe the line across.

Other than these huge bubble, there are also countless small bubbles. The parts also have terrible tabs(if that's what you call them). Look at this part for example, left is before, and right is after:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601284.jpeg

And look at the hand before:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601280.jpeg

and after:
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601299.jpeg

Then there are various fitting issues I had to deal with, such as:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601294.jpeg

After these problems were dealt with, I started doing the normal steps, cleaning up seam lines, parts connection, etc.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601290.jpeg

Finally it's time for first primer. After priming, I found more small bubbles so I sanded them down again.https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601302.jpeg
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601307.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601310.jpeg

Then I started painting. I didn't take many pictures during painting so I'll just lay out what I used. I mainly use Mr. color for painting because I had them for painting gunpla and really like them. For skin, I used Lascivious white peach as base and clear red as shading. Then I added a layer of moonstone pearl to give it extra shine(I took this advice from ponnie). I really like the shiny smooth skin feeling. It looks sexy and fitting to the swimsuit theme. At top I use a layer of super smooth flat coat to make it not look greasy.

The biggest step I made in the process of painting this kit is that I painted her eyes! I have never painted eyes before and this is a big step forward. I forgot to take many pictures because I was too focused on painting them, but here are two pictures:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/01/07/2601329.jpeg

Don't forget to mask them before spraying flat coat on the face~

For the shiny greenish color on the twin Rhongomyniad, I blended green, sky blue and super fine silver as the base color. Then I added a layer of Turquoise Green as the shiny surface that gives you extra shine of green pearl when you're looking at it at the right angle.

Nothing else are notable in the painting process. I mostly focused on the skin and eyes so some parts are not perfectly smooth or wiped. However I'm still pleased with the outcome(also just a little lazy). For the base I made an asphalt road base because I remember that in the plot of her event, she appeared on the road multiple times. I even went into the game and took a screenshot of the background as the background of the second picture of the article. Here is the base:

Now, time for pictures of the completed kit!

Thank you for reading! I hope you guys like it! I am still a beginner, so there are much to improve. I look forward to building my next kit!

Thank you! I painted them after an awesome guy on Twitter. I'm glad that I kind of pulled it off

I like the colors used and the shining and shading are truly well done.
When I saw the first photo, I didn’t think you received the pieces in such a bad state.
I look forward to reading your next building article!

Thanks a lot! I will try my best not to disappoint~

leafjelly1 month ago#89685489wow great job fixing it, making it fit, and painting! Holy crap i wouldn't have known it initially had so many issues just from the final figure if i hadn't seen the wip images!
I was thinking of getting into GKs, can I ask what did you use to mask the eyes? :0 it doesn't look like tape.

Thank you so much! It is a demanding but also rewarding hobby, so I encourage you to get into it! I used Mr. Masking solution R. It is a liquid that you can apply to certain places that will harden after a while! You can then paint and tear them off cleanly. It's easy to use so I really recommend it!

codelauren1 month ago#89681316She looks amazing! What type of putty did you use to fix the fitting problems?
Thank you very much! I used epoxy putty since it is easy to use. Basically take some, and put it on the part, and fit the parts together so that the putty will be shaped properly. Then wipe off the excess, wait for it to dry, and then sand down the piece for it to look smooth.
