Maakie's Collection #27 Chrono Crusade, Strike Witches and goodsMaakie's Collection #27 Chrono Crusade, Strike Witches and goodsReview

Hello MFC! And welcome to another blog in my collection series! These blogs cover figures from my collection that have been in storage for a long time due to my emigration. I also use this as an opportunity to practice with my new camera and also appreciate the items I have been owning for a longer time!

The items we are going to look at today, starting with some random goods:

- Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters - Plate - Millennium Puzzle Plate (Cospa): ITEM #510662
- Strike Witches - Lynette Bishop - Necklace - Lynette Symbol Necklace (Great Eastern Entertainment): ITEM #57614
- Chrono Crusade - Chrono (Universal Entertainment): ITEM #11156
- Strike Witches - Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen - SD (Phat Company) ITEM #99260 & Strike Witches - Sanya V Litvyak - SD (Phat Company) ITEM #99259 (set of 2)
- Strike Witches - Strike Witches 2 - Erica Hartmann - 1/8 (Alter) ITEM #78647

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters - Plate - Millennium Puzzle Plate (Cospa): ITEM #510662

A bit of an odd item to start this blog with, but one I really liked to show as I never unboxed it before: This collectible plate! I bought it in 2018 (part of this loot BLOG #41175 ), with the idea that I would be saving it as collectible piece...but with my Yu-Gi-Oh! display so full of other items I was like, screw this! I am going to use this item!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666594.jpeg

So here is a picture of it the first time after unboxing! I have since used and put it in the dishwasher about 10 times and still looks the same! On purpose I don't use any cutlery on it though, that way I hope I can keep the image looking good on it for as long as possible.

Strike Witches - Lynette Bishop - Necklace - Lynette Symbol Necklace (Great Eastern Entertainment): ITEM #57614

Another kind of odd item, this necklace I purchased when there were big end of year sales at an European store (loot covered here: BLOG #42278 ), this is my first time unboxing it.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666595.jpeg

I'll be honest, my expectations weren't that high as Great Eastern Entertainment is known for sub-par quality collectibles, but this was actually even lesser quality than expected in all honesty. Both the item and packaging look very cheap.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666596.jpeg

The inside display piece makes the item look a bit better, but...

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666597.jpeg

...there already seemed to be discoloration on the metal right out of the packaging! I knew the item had been sealed for 9 years before I opened it up, but still...

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666598.jpeg

The colors on the emblem itself I hoped to be brighter, but oh well, it's OK I guess. I put this necklace with my other jewellery and worn it a couple of times, typing about the item now does motivate me to wear it more. I might re-appreciate it then.

Chrono Crusade - Chrono (Universal Entertainment): ITEM #11156

An 'older' franchise I still love very much is Chrono Crusade. This specific Chrono figure I purchased in 2015 and covered in a loot blog BLOG #25997 back then. I kept him sealed until now.

When I looked up the database entry to add to this blog I was surprised to see that the manufacturer was now named Universal Entertainment rather than Aruze as it was before. When I earlier reviewed my Rosette figures ( ITEM #11155 & ITEM #11154 ) I remember I was having a hard time finding out more about this brand. A couple of years later it seemed like user ADAMSKA managed to find out that in 2009 the company changed names. However when these figures were produced in 2004, they were still called Aruze.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666600.jpeg

For an older prize figure the box looks decent.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666601.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666602.jpeg

Jep, that's it. Not a 'wow' figure in any way, but it's the only figure representation of Chrono out there. For an early 2000's prize figure it's not that bad.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666603.jpeg

I would have liked his skin color to be more accurate, but at least I'm happy with the colors of the outfit and the hair.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666604.jpeg

The hair also has a higher amount of details sculpted than you would expect for the figure's age!

Strike Witches - Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen - SD (Phat Company) ITEM #99260 & Strike Witches - Sanya V Litvyak - SD (Phat Company) ITEM #99259 (set of 2)

This cute set had been on my wishlist from the moment they were added to the database, however with them being not that easy to find it took until last year that I bought them (covered in this loot BLOG #45784 here). Right now is also my first time unboxing them.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666606.jpeg

Very cute box design! I like the crayon writing at the bottom.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666607.jpeg

Those mouths are so cute!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666608.jpeg

The way they get attached to their base is...interesting. Both of them need to be inserted at the bottom of their Striker Units.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666609.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666610.jpeg

Although I don't have any issues with the base, I would have liked it if there was also an option to display the 2 figures separately (for example with 2 small bases being included next to this bigger combination base). This is because I display my Strike Witches collection with a separate shelf for each character.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666611.jpeg

The figures come with neck joints so you can slightly change the direction in which they look.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666612.jpeg

These figures are the quality and size I expected, with an unique style I personally like a lot. I would recommend the set to other Sanya and Eila fans!

Strike Witches - Strike Witches 2 - Erica Hartmann - 1/8 (Alter) ITEM #78647

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666613.jpeg

Another great Strike Witches piece by Alter is Erica, can you believe this figure is already 8 years old?

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666614.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666615.jpeg

I love the grin and her eyes!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666616.jpeg

The gun isn't as detailed as newer Alter pieces, but still looks very good.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666617.jpeg

Lots of nice decals on the Striker Units.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666618.jpeg

Huh...I only now realize my copy has quite a big paint transfer on her gun (the black stripe), so I checked my earlier review BLOG #42118 of the figure and it looks like it wasn't there yet 2 years ago. I wonder if I accidentally did this while setting her up or boxing/unboxing her for the move. I'll try to fix it up later.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666619.jpeg

Also I only now realize her right arm should be on top of the gun...I guess I was a bit sleepy while making the pictures, haha! I quickly ran off to my display cabinet to fix it after typing this.

Bonus pictures: Current state of my collection room

I have been talking about unboxing these figures so much, you would almost forget that I am also still setting them up in my new displays! I haven't shown any progress on this since Maakie's Collection #18 BLOG #47715 .

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666654.jpeg

As you can see I am still missing 2 display cases. This is because I am unfortunately currently hunting for some missing pieces for these 2 display cases, I hope they weren't lost in my move...

For now I have decided to fill up the other shelves as much as possible and then spread out everything better once the final 2 cases are standing.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666655.jpeg

Most progress was made on my Yu-Gi-Oh! and Mecha Musume detolfs. I am currently working on an idea for a custom riser I have for the Lucky Star x Kantai Collection shelf.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666656.jpeg

I decided which Strike Witch is going to be on which shelf, but for a while more they are going to have to share the space with some random other figures.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666657.jpeg

And this is my current 'storage' of random game goods and display risers. Also got to fix some lights.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666663.jpeg

This case will have from top to bottom: my Komugi shelf, goth girls, Chrono Crusade and Baccano!. At the moment I am doubting to what extend I want my Baccano! goods displayed, I would need a lot of Baccano! shelves to display it all.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666664.jpeg

This one will have from top to bottom: Hideyoshi shelf, Tanya (or maybe general military girls), Ymir and idols (or maybe mixed game related girls).

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/03/21/2666654.jpeg

And yes, I am still working on a walkthrough blog of how I did everything, which furniture is used, etc.! :) I want the room to be as complete as possible before posting it, though! There will also be an FAQ about the set-up.

And to finish it!

For those who read all this way, thank you! My next blog will probably be another entry for this blog type!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, you could also check my others if you're interested! As promised, for every new blog I would fix the image hosting of an older blog. As it's referenced here I have fixed:

If you also have any you would like me to fix, let me know!

Wario541 month ago#94440007Damn, that whole display area looks epic! :O So classy with the lights and everything, those are goals right there. Also yay I know who Chr(o)no is now! He looks good for an old figure, tbh I think it’s pretty cool he even got a figure at all.

Thank you! There is so much work going into it. I hope I can live here for many years and don't have to think about redoing this set-up anytime soon again. I think it will be super cool once the final 2 displays are up and all my stuff on the walls is there. 8)

Chrono Crusade was pretty huge late 90's/early 00's, so I am kind of surprised there is not more. Like, even a more complete trading figure set for example. But oh well, I still have multiple more GK's to hunt after, the collecting is still ongoing. :)

victorviper1 month ago#94449145I didn't know those little Sanya/Eila figures even existed; those are kind of cute.
Chrono definitely shows his age, with the rigid pose and the iffy painting, but the detail on his braid is surprisingly decent.
I also can't believe Alter Hartmann is 8 years old. It seems like I bought that figure just the other day :).

Yeah I guess they didn't get much attention as they were hard to get with their limited + exclusive release, I also don't see much pictures from them in general on the internet. It's mostly coming across their database entries here every now and then that would make me think "ahh, I should try to get those someday".

The Chrono figure seems like a good candidate for some customization improvements as the base figure is good, but he is a bit too rare for me to try.

Hehe, although I own this figure for a lot shorter time myself, she does absolutely not feel this old with her nice quality!
