Great Figures, Amazing Service, Fantastic Price!
MaakieMaakie24 days ago
Hello MFC! And welcome to another blog in my collection series! These blogs cover figures from my collection that have been in storage for a long time due to my emigration. I also use this as an opportunity to practice with my new camera and also appreciate the items I have been owning for a longer time!

The figures we are going to look at today are quite a mixed bunch again!

- Moetan - Pastel Ink - Nendoroid (#037) (Good Smile Company) ITEM #901
- Strike Witches - Francesca Lucchini - Nendoroid (#108) (Good Smile Company) ITEM #5432
- Atelier Rorona ~Arland no Renkinjutsushi~ - Rororina Fryxell - High Priestess - 1/8 (MegaHouse) ITEM #61401
- Bioshock 2 - Big Daddy Rosie action figure by NECA (not allowed in the database)
- Strike Witches - Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen - Figma (#149) (Max Factory) ITEM #98903

Moetan - Pastel Ink - Nendoroid (#037) (Good Smile Company) ITEM #901

You might remember me as the person crazy enough to buy this Nendoroid 3 times BLOG #43194 so I would be able to display her with her three faceplates. I still don't regret this decision!

As these are older Nendoroids they have more defects than what is nowadays common, all of them also have very different defects on each copy which is covered more in detail in the earlier mentioned review. They are also more prone to breaking. That is why after setting them all up in their poses I won't play around much with them anymore.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692357.jpeg

All those random splotches on her cap and hair are paint errors straight from the box. Nendoroids have really come a long way...

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692359.jpeg

It's so cute how she sits on this chair!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692360.jpeg

And our bright eyed cute pointing Ink! The QC differences in each of these three Inks really is wild! This third one is the best looking of the three with almost perfect hair.

Although the quality of this Nendoroid is not the greatest, I do think she is very adorable and recommendable for other Moetan fans. Maybe also for Nendoroid collectors that want some cute accessories or the chair to use with others in this line!

Strike Witches - Francesca Lucchini - Nendoroid (#108) (Good Smile Company) ITEM #5432

We jump 2 years into the future for this Nendoroid and she is already lots and lots better when it comes to quality, handling and fragile parts!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692361.jpeg

I always liked her yelling faceplate the most, so cute with that little fang!

Atelier Rorona ~Arland no Renkinjutsushi~ - Rororina Fryxell - High Priestess - 1/8 (MegaHouse) ITEM #61401

This figure was love at first sight, although during the time I got her (2012) I had not even played Atelier Rorona yet! When I got a PS3 a couple of years later and played it, I was very happy that I like both the game and the character a lot as well!

I also wrote a more extensive review of this figure shortly after I got her all those years back BLOG #6016 .

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692366.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692367.jpeg

I think she is of amazing quality for a nearly 9 year old figure and I would recommend her to other people that love her look and/or the Atelier games. Surprisingly enough this figure never got expensive on the aftermarket although she only got 1 release run. At least to me it seems a bit random which Atelier characters become super expensive and which ones nearly ignored on the aftermarket.

Some pervy talking and photos below.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692372.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692368.jpeg

I always loved Rorona's body type. She has amazing legs and what I see as a perfect chest size (which is very hard to find in anime style figures as it's mostly either loli or milky, and the sizes in between are a lot more rare to find on figures).

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692371.jpeg

The figure has multiple very nice looking transparent pieces. In the pictures below I decided to take her outside in sunlight so you could see this better:

Bioshock 2 - Big Daddy Rosie action figure by NECA (not allowed in the database)

Just like my earlier discussed Big Sister and Little Sister made by NECA BLOG #47926 , Big Daddy Rosie also comes with great details! And he's huge!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692381.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692382.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692384.jpeg

Although officially an action figure, it's hard to put him in different poses because of his weight and size. It doesn't mater for me as I also really enjoy this look and the joints are almost invisible.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692385.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692386.jpeg

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692387.jpeg

So much great details and painting!

Strike Witches - Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen - Figma (#149) (Max Factory) ITEM #98903

The last one for this blog today will be the Figma of Eila, which I have also reviewed in more detail before BLOG #40117 . If you want to see all possible poses and accessories she comes with you can check out this earlier review, now I will just share my favorite way to display her:

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692388.jpeg

I really like the wide-legged 'static' pose.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692389.jpeg

The gun packs some nice detail.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/18/2692390.jpeg

The Striker Units and the uniform are looking great as well!

A final note

I hope you have enjoyed my blogs in the Maakie's Collection series! The first one I made was back in July 2020 BLOG #46025 , so I've been semi-actively making these for 9 months now, woah! That is quite a long time and there is still more to cover! It seems like in my current coverage average of figures each blog I will reach somewhere in the 50's blog-wise if I want to make the Maakie's Collection series complete!

And to finish it!

For those who read all this way, thank you! My next blog will be the earlier mentioned room tour/set-up blog!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, you could also check my others if you're interested! As promised, for every new blog I would fix the image hosting of an older blog. As I reference it here, I have fixed this retro review:

If you also have any you would like me to fix, let me know!

I remember fighting the Rosie, they were tough customers.
Interesting to compare to the anime figures. He has a more Warhammer feel shading for his paint work.

Unfortunately I am unfamiliar with the rest of the characters her. I Hope you are well.

Maakie24 days ago#95736796I recently had an interesting discussion with an user on here about how every 'line' from MegaHouse is almost like a separate company or a hugely separate department. The High Priestess ENTRY #27538 line from Rorona seems to be quite well received. Then from multiple figures from my own experience in the Excellent Model ENTRY #25298 line are great as well. If I look at the lines that are getting flak they seem to be flak for almost the whole line. It was interesting because earlier I thought it seemed like a decline in quality over time, but actually paying attention to the lines is more important than release date possibly.
I personally always liked the time restrictions in Rorona as with other Atelier games I could find myself a bit aimlessly traveling or doing quests. ^^'' It seems like this is not the general opinion though, haha!
Yeah Lucchini's character design and personality really translates well to a Nendo! Her grinning faceplate PICTURE #950195 is great too. :)

The MegaHouse Queens Blade figures are also quite good.

I view the Atelier games as "relaxed" games, and the original Rorona kind of stressed me out at times since it felt like I was always just scrambling to get things done (it was too much like being at work :) ). Totori relaxed things up a little, but there were still times where it felt like the clock was ticking. Meruru found a nice balance IMO between having to stay focused on goals while still allowing some time to just mess around, explore, and do synthesis.

victorviper24 days ago#95699776It seems like MegaHouse takes a lot of flak about their figures, but I've always thought that Rorona figure was a really well-made item. I've always wanted to go back and play the remake of Atelier Rorona, as the original game forced the player to rush to get things done, but who knows if I will ever get clear through my game backlog to revisit an old PS3 game.
Lucchini is one of my favorite Nendos. The SD style suits her so well, and the shimapan feature is something you don't see too often on Nendo figures.
