Hello MFC! And welcome to another blog in my collection series! These blogs cover figures from my collection that have been in storage for a long time due to my emigration. I also use this as an opportunity to practice with my new camera and also appreciate the items I have been owning for a longer time!

The figures we are going to look at today:

x Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ - Fubuki - SPM Figure (SEGA): ITEM #314583
x Peace@Pieces - Momose Hikaru - 1/8 - Death Cloth Ver. (Alter): ITEM #325
x Fullmetal Alchemist (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) - Black Hayate - Riza Hawkeye - Roy Mustang - Book in Figure (Square Enix): ITEM #13245
x Gekijouban Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions - Black Magician Girl (FuRyu): ITEM #344699

Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ - Fubuki - SPM Figure (SEGA): ITEM #314583

Unboxing this figure brought a lot of memories back, as I used this figure for my first photoshoot to practice with my new camera. Back then I made this review about her BLOG #45633 .

I would say I still have a lot to learn about properly using all options from this camera, but at least things are looking better than when I just started out, haha!

Pretty impressive for a prize figure as all the details in her design are there.

Fubuki's look in this figure is based on her anime appearance. Personally I like her game appearance more, but as Fubuki is definitely underrepresented figure-wise, I really liked to get this one too.

There is quite a bit of shading on most of the mecha pieces!

I would recommend this figure to other Fubuki and boat girl fans if they want to have a figure of her on a smaller budget. Otherwise I recommend her scaled figure ITEM #236237 by Kotobukiya.

Peace@Pieces - Momose Hikaru - 1/8 - Death Cloth Ver. (Alter): ITEM #325

I bought this figure many many years ago as I always liked this one for aesthetic reasons. Her colors and type of outfit make her blend very well in my collection, especially with my POP ENTRY #8335 figures, although this specific character is designed by Itou Noiji ENTRY #8334 , who is mostly known for designing the Shakugan no Shana and Haruhi Suzumiya cast. If you're interested in a retro review of mine to see this figure in more detail, you can check it out here: BLOG #10490 .

On a sidenote, I've had more issues recently with my lighting set-up not giving as much light as I want, so I have been thinking about buying a light ring, does anyone have any experience how well this works for figure photography? I'm a bit afraid it might overexpose my pictures, which is the other end I rather not have my pictures go to.

I love the design of the hair!

One of her guns mentions 'truth' and the other one 'lies'.

This weird skin coloring on parts not directly attached to the body (such as the hand) and the not everywhere even lines in paint were pretty common for figures produced around this time (2006).

Such an a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e face! I also like with this design that although the basic design screams 'loli', the character actually has a decent chest size.

The 'floating' shoe rings are also a really neat part of the design, it makes her look very angelic.

Although she comes with some flaws expected for her age, I would still really recommend this figure to anyone that likes her design!

Fullmetal Alchemist (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) - Black Hayate - Riza Hawkeye - Roy Mustang - Book in Figure (Square Enix): ITEM #13245

Back in the days where there was a severe lack of Fullmetal Alchemist figures, this book-bonus figure was the best you could get of Roy and Riza. I remember searching for many years to get it for a decent price and I was very happy when I had the opportunity with a local seller.

For their small size (12CM height total) it looks pretty decent!

Riza has the best expression of the two and I like the smaller details on her, such as her holster.

There are quite a bit of small paint mishaps and discolorations (of which some maybe have to do with age, such as the black parts looking a bit more grey-ish in some areas). I won't be pointing out every small defect, I think the pictures speak for themselves and I also think with the small size this is rather a shelf-filler than a centerpiece.

Roy definitely has an odd face that does not look much like him at all. Luckily in their standard display option he is mostly with his back towards you and there is more focus on Riza who has the better face.

When I first got this figure I remember being surprised at Roy's flare on his hand being off-center and thought it might be a defect. After some asking around it turned out that this is on (almost?) all copies of this figure.

What is nice about this figure is the whole diorama set up. Especially the wall and ground look very nice.

There are also 'hidden details' such as this warning sign.

I tried to use flash so you can see that it is painted with metallic paint:

I'm also happy a mini Hayate is included!

Especially with the figure quality of nowadays and the better options for FMA items, this figure is not that recommendable to get anymore, but if you would like to have a small Roy and Riza or some more variation in your FMA collection, it's still very cool!

Gekijouban Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions - Black Magician Girl (FuRyu): ITEM #344699

The first thing I noticed when I unboxed this figure again is that it had gotten a bit of a lean. Looking at the figure's page in the database, it seems like other owners of this figure are experiencing the same forward or backward lean. Her legs are super thin and she is only connected with one leg to the base, so I guess it was a matter of time.

Anyway, about a bit over a year ago I unsealed this figure and made a review of her: BLOG #42952 .

Actually seeing this figure now again after such a long time of being boxed up...I actually like her a lot less than before. I really prefer her original Duel Monsters design over the movie design. It also didn't strike me as much before how she looks a bit out of proportion with her very long and thin legs and arms. As I have unboxed her and there is space on my YGO shelves, I will display her for now, but it's actually giving me some second thoughts about keeping her.

I do love the general color use and overall aesthetic!

She definitely has some softness going on in the colors and shapes, so she is kind of nice. If you're a fan of BMG I do have a lot of others I would recommend instead though! And if you're on a smaller budget, there is also an upcoming Pop Up Parade: ITEM #1131828 .

And to finish it!

For those who read all this way, thank you! My next blog will probably be another entry for this blog type!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, you could also check my others if you're interested! As promised, for every new blog I would fix the image hosting of an older blog. As the figure is referenced here I have fixed this retro review:
