Why do we all like Miku? Why do we all like Miku?Ask MFC

This is a legit question.

I've been a fan of Vocaloid since Miku was first introduced and I was a part of the fandom for many years.

Miku was just a mascot for a voice bank and people started making music with her and the other vocaloids. AMVs came out, etc. But hey, that happens with a lot of things! Fandom gets big, content is produced, and most move on.

However, Miku also has no personality, you can say. It's given to her by the fans. Plus, with all the money she rakes in, i'm surprised we haven't gotten an anime or more stuff to get to know her more.

Besides Miku getting a lot of nice figures, she gets so many because she makes money = more figures/designs = more money = more figures/designs etc. So I don't think "We like Miku because she has good figures" is a good enough reason, at least not to satisfy me.

SO, how did we as a society ever agree that we just love Miku, despite us not knowing much canon content about her?

Because she's cute! She looks good in every outfit, her voice is adorable, and she spans near all genres of music...well, so long as they can be redone in VOCALOID.

LaraNgwin3 months ago#97887097AGREEDDDD speaking of proseka tho, i think they really did good by making a miku for each group so there were different personalities of her that fans could resonate with!! At that point, it would just be weird to say "this isn't miku" lol. (my favourite is the wxs miku but i can see how most non fans see her only as the more more jump version). I can't even imagine being a miku oshi and trying to get every miku card tho,,, that'd be hell.
I don't understand Japanese well, so no surprise I couldn't grasp the different personalities lol I didn't play much either

warmkaito3 months ago#97887131they are working on an animated series[/url] so we may see more of these versions!!)When they first announced that, I was kinda concerned tbh. The ones producing it definitely have an... interesting... body of work, to it put nicely.

LaraNgwin3 months ago#97887090It's BECAUSE shes an absolute blank slate for artists and producers alike that there is so much creativity when she's in use. Some producers know how to really tune her (and other voice banks) and just the fact that people can utilize her in SOOO many situations is amazing in itself. I'd say I even hate when people leave comments around here saying "this doesn't even look like miku" cuz well,,,, did u expect her to look like her old project diva v2 model? Seeing how already iconic she is, people are drawn to her in design (similar to id say rem or sonico) and the right producer can just get u drooling over her: speaking of, Miku Expo was just 2 days ago :eyes:
Also cuz shes ms. worldwide wat is there NOT to like :p
Music is truly universal so I feel like anyone and their grandmama can just vibe with her XD

OMG MS. WORLDWIDE HAHAHA
Miku is on her way to dominating the world as we speak!

Gab3 months ago#97886930If they released an anime for Miku I think there would be a huge chance of it backfiring. One example of that is when Kaito's height in Project Sekai was announced, many fans thought he should be taller and complained about it. Where's the love for short guys? www I bet he isn't even that 'short' tbh. And to be fair, I feel like people will find anything to complain about. Getting mad about a fictional character's height just seems so trivial to me. However, as you mentioned, I'm sure that's one reason why they don't have an anime for her, too. Plus, anime is usually to promote a series to the general public. Miku is already mainstream and everyone knows about her, that she doesn't need it most likely haha.

mandu4203 months ago#97885955You know, I didn’t really like Miku until I got into collecting figures. And even then I told myself I was only getting one. Now I have like 6 or 7 with more on the way. Maybe I got brainwashed or something but Miku for life gang gang. Even considering getting Wrist World for her.Perhaps being a Miku fan is all part of her world domination plan.

lemonade73893 months ago#97885280for me, it's because she's a constant without conflict. there's no canon story, so there's nothing bad about her, and there's almost no room for debate. I can just be reminded on a bad day that "at least Miku is there"I guess you can't hate her if there is nothing to hate all due to the fact that she can be anything you want, haha.

famouslastwords3 months ago#978852881. way more songs by way more producers than any human artist could ever put out = something for everyone's music taste
2. very cute
3. no canon but just enough official material (pvs, games, fan interaction at concerts or in videos) to be interesting
Oh wow! I really like the first reason and I can't believe I dind't put two and two together. Now that I think about it, since anyone can just create music for her, anyone is bound to at least like a few songs from her and find a way to connect with her. :0
