Shipping Frustrations: Lousy Shipping!Shipping Frustrations: Lousy Shipping!Ask MFC

Well after what feels like Forever today ITEM #349362 arrived and I am finished with collecting Transformers for now because I've gotten to where I'm sick and tired of USPS because my local area doesn't have that much in stock and have to order so many of the newer figures online and it's a headache to deal with when a lot of packages coming in and one or two of those packages are either delayed or just vanish into the postal system.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/07/22/2792826.jpeg

Shockwave is one of my top favorite Decepticons and at the start of my return to collecting more Transformers I wanted to get Masterpiece Shockwave into the collection, I figured I'd go for a KO of the figure from a Chinese Seller on ebay....that seller turned out to be a Scammer and I got my Money Back on that pretty quickly.

The second time I got Shockwave from a US Seller, took forever to ship and feels like after opening a Item not Received Case that got them to ship -they had Negative Feedbacks for being a deadbeat seller and I pretty much gave up on that one- it and it's first day in Transit it hit Warrendale PA USPS Distribution Center...that place is a black hole for packages and every package I've had go through there has sat for a week or more and it gives me a headache when I see that pop up in Tracking for something I'm waiting for.

During the time I was waiting for the seller to ship ended up checking out another Seller for Masterpiece Shockwave and ordered a KO at half the price of what I paid for the other one from the US Seller and that one has been moving through the postal system in China pretty quickly and may arrive here before the end of the month.

But this fiasco with sellers and lousy shipping has been the primary reason I'm taking a break from online shopping because I'm SICK of the way things are with the postal system and when I'm waiting for multiple items it's a headache that gets worse so not dealing with that headache again for a while.

At the moment waiting for one more package that's coming from Overseas and that's ITEM #808378 coming via Japan Post and that may not get here till late August or even September I try to avoid using Japan Post but this time decided what the hell and just ordered it that way since it had Free Shipping.

Most of the frustrations an aggravations I've had with this Hobby over the past year have been due to the Postal System and I've get a migraine whenever something disappears in the postal system and that leads to having to file claims and then weeks or even a month later that item pops up and it's just a big headache to deal with and I'm tired of waiting for a lot of stuff so that is why my focus is on doing less with the hobby for the rest of the year.

3 Day shipping on that MP Shockwave box that turned into a week because of that lousy USPS Distribution Center that it went too and just sat there for a week after waiting almost 2 weeks for the seller to ship it since it was bought at the end of last month.

At least I'm finished with Transformers for now.

How many Shipping Problems have you had this year?

When shipping is involved I'm extremely unlucky. Unless if it's Ninnin, their packages always arrive fast and in perfect state lol. Here's some examples:

. Been waiting 2 months for a scale that was shipped 70 miles away from my home (seller refused a meet-up when I offered to drive to his town). It should be delivered in the next few days but it was stuck that long in the carrier warehouse for no reason

. Usually never get my mangas from US or Canada. I love buying from Canada but they never provide tracking numbers so it's a pain to get reimbursed.

. EMS takes 3/4 months to arrive when it should take less than 2 weeks

. Amiami packages always arrive in extremely poor condition (box smashed or wet)

. Not figures related but I sent a watch for repair and paid for an express repair since I can't live without a watch. It should have taken 2 weeks, it's been 3 months and the repairer can't give me any details on the shipping so I have a dispute opened since 2 weeks

I'm glad I only have 3 figures pre-ordered til end of 2021 and it should be the end of collecting for me. Shipping issues made me hate the hobby. Too much stress on checking stuff, following stuff, opening disputes, calling carriers for extra checkups.

Dang, that's crazy! None for me this year so far -- outside of wonderful Amazon Japan items arriving damaged because we can't possibly use a card board thicker than a piece of paper to ship worldwide....but I digress.

Last year I had like 3 bizarre bad ebay experiences. I'm not the dwelling-on-the-negative kind of person so I can't remember all the details (as I choose not to) but I had to do the steps to open cases and resolve matters. It was all done peacefully though.

A lot this year I quit my job so paying $100 to ship a damn tapestry is a pain in the ass I’m just waiting and hoping my other packages come later this month( before the expiry date for my first package runs out since it’s only good for 45 days it’s been like 24 or so days so far) so I have a better excuse to dump that kind of money and that’ll be it for me

TyjosAzari6 days ago#98605907Reminds me when Amazon delivered a package just after the big snowstorm here and they placed it right underneath a spot where water had been dripping from the snow melting and it's getting to where it's getting more annoying to deal with online shopping because of the way things get delivered and I'm going to be a lot happier when I'm not dealing with that headache once I get away from ordering online.
Just feels like it's one thing or another with ordering online, it's the wait and then the delivery of the item and it gets frustrating to deal with things like that when they dump a package in a puddle or put it somewhere the package gets damaged.

Oh man, amazon is one of the WORST with this. I had ITEM #371411 thrown straight into the water hose compartment where everything is all wet and humid. Why not just throw it in my porch? I'm very lucky to have a good mail man so I never have a problem with USPS in terms of delivering my packages.

I've rarely had problems with Japanese sites though, all my packaging blunders have been through Ebay. I've had ITEM #133961 and ITEM #91359 wrapped with a single tissue paper with no bubble wrap or paper padding. AGAIN it was raining that day so the boxes got not only water damage but large dents as well. I even had an entire figure get lost in the mail because the seller did not tape down the label good enough and the sorting machines torn it off. It's the main reason I use two labels plus a note in the package now because I do NOT want that to happen to me nor any future buyers.

TyjosAzari6 days ago#98605913I think that's one of my biggest peeves with shipping/packing when they chunk it in a large envelope instead of a solid box.

As far as I can remember, that's the only time I've had that happen. I still don't know what the seller was thinking in doing that.

The funniest part is that I've had plenty of boxes arrive with massive dents and holes in them, but they almost always manage to protect the stuff inside even if they look like they came through a war zone when they arrive.

The only case I can even remember of a figure arriving broken when shipped in a box are some cold cast One Piece statues that I bought earlier this year, and I was fully expecting some damage on them because they were cold cast porcelain and were shipped from Canada to the US. Pretty sure the damage was actually temperature/weather related and not even due to them being tossed around in shipping.

Milady-Alluca Obnoxiously Wordy
Knock on wood, I've been lucky with the USPS, DHL, and Fedex shipments I've dealt with and never lost anything in the US. The most stressful experience was in November 2020 when someone bought a prize figure from me and it got lost in a PA sorting facility for a few weeks (PA USPS sucks it seems lmao) - I was stressed out bc of a lot of IRL stuff and the buyer was reasonably anxious and I ended up fully refunding them because I just didn't want to deal with it anymore and didn't want to feel bad making my buyer feel upset so I just ate the apparent loss of figure, money, and shipping cost.

And then wouldn't you know, not even like 3 days later the package got delivered safe and sound and luckily for me the buyer was incredibly honest and kind and sent payment back to me in full.

If I see tracking take a package to PA I will forever get anxious from now on, though.
I'm getting ready to grab my sales stuff out of storage and start hopefully selling off a bunch of stuff before 2022 gets those new tax form requirements going...not looking forward to subjecting myself to shipping annoyances again though x_x

TrixieTang6 days ago#98605909I got ITEM #997 new from a genius on eBay who decided to ship it by wrapping her box in bubblewrap and then sticking it in a large envelope. I think it goes without saying that her box arrived with a lot more dents in it than were shown in the listing photos.

Satansbakesale6 days ago#98605891Fedex threw ITEM #943145 straight into a puddle while it was pouring rain. Thanks to Neokyo's amazing packaging the figure and box were OK but kinda sucks I couldn't reuse the packaging since I like to recycle it to save money on buying packaging materials. Also had a statue I ordered arrive damaged due to customs and a piece of the teeth and one of the horns were missing so that sucked big time. I reconstructed the horn but I don't know how to approach repairing the tooth since a piece of it was chipped off. It would've been a bigger hassle to return it so I held onto it since those were the only parts with major damage. Sucks that there are so many problem sellers on Ebay though, one of the major reasons I tend to avoid buying things there.
