First Pre-Owned Nendoroid (B/B Condition)First Pre-Owned Nendoroid (B/B Condition)Review

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my experience with you, all the nendos I currently own were bought factory sealed, so this was my first time making this type of purchase.
I had been looking for (ITEM #549399) for quite a long time, even though he had three releases, he’s quite a rare Nendoroid, and it shouldn’t be surprising Detective Conan/Case Closed is EXTREMELY popular in Japan, so he doubled in price after his third release, his current ratio it’s about 6-7k and up brand new.
I finally found him pre-owned for 5,000 yen, it was listed as “opened, box damaged”. I knew I wasn’t going to find a better deal so I bought him and here´s the result.
(I won’t be naming the store but it’s Japan’s biggest chain of second-hand items)

The Box

The box is in great condition, it has zero visible damage to it, which is odd because I could have sworn that I saw very minimal damage to it on the listing's photos, it could have been the illumination... maybe?

The Figure

Here is world’s smallest detective out of the box… and he is... pristine?! when I took the blister out of the box I noticed Conan had all its protective plastics,
(including the one in the front hairpiece and the torso), the articulations were all factory-tight if you know what I mean, and it even had that "fresh PVC" smell.

The paint job it's spotless on the Nendoroid and the accessories, I really couldn't find any error on Him. So aside from the seal sticker that was cut this is pretty much a brand new Nendoroid.

Bonus Track

I also got Ran (ITEM #1004181), Conan’s “older sister”/”girlfriend”. Despite her lack of figures, she is a very popular character in the franchise (and my favorite), so I decided to pick her up now before she gets more expensive. I found her sealed for 4730 yen, so I’ve got nothing to say about her condition, other than she’s super cute and I adore her.

I'm currently waiting on Shinichi (ITEM #1004182) so I won't be opening her until he arrives. I was thinking about making a double review on them...
Can’t wait to have them together!

I’m super happy with my purchases and the deals that I’ve got for these two.

depending on where you buy from, sometimes preowned B condition just means theres an undiscoverable scratch on it or B may mean it has one minor detail that puts it off from being new haha

such a cute nendoroid!! definitely a score

For the longest time I had no idea there was an overarching plot to it lmao I thought it was an episodic murder mystery show

Yeah, it has a big overaching plot, that spreads over hundreths of manga chapters, (and anime episodes). In fact today its the release of volume 100 (in japan).

Stacia1 month ago#102501119I don't know where you left off but yes the anime its whorth catching up to, at least the canon material, we've gotten quite a few new characters that are relevant to the black organization, and we are getting some clues about the boss in the manga...

Regarding second hand figures, I never have any qualms with them, large portion of my collection is second hand from yahoo auctions. Japanese B condition goods are on par with Western A to even S condition stuff at times tbh. I saved good money a few times by settling on a figure with a smudge on its back that I don't evem see on display!

Nice, I've bought a couple pre-owned figures (I think two), and it can be a money-saver, though I try to strictly go for brand new deals. But reconsidering that rule for certain cases would not hurt.

Nice! I'm glad he came in such excellent condition!
Preowned Nendos are the way to go for any older figures or rare ones. If you can find one that's in excellent condition but missing a small part or two on AmiAmi you can often get pricy stuff at a steal of a price.
Later, you can decide if you really care about those extra parts and if you do it's often easy to get them somewhere like ChibiChopShop which is something I did with my Aoba Nendo from DMMD. :)
