I personally use a very soft make-up brush, always does the trick : )

I have washed all of my figures multiple times with water and dish soap (removing either built-up dust, from before I had detolfs, or to remove stickiness from older figures). Never had any type of damage to them, just gotta be gentle. I use a soft toothbrush for prizes, and for scales, I've used soft watercolor brushes.

You can wash them with cool water and dishwashing soap (like Dawn) - just be gentle and then dry them with compressed air or even a hairdryer on cool.

A can of compressed air is the best way to reach small parts without damaging them.

I also recommend detaching the bases and wiping them over with a duster cloth + polish - helps to remove & prevent further dust buildup :)

Controlled compressed air (airbrush) and a detailed pass with a soft brush (I use a watercolor brush).
