Looking at the customs invoice it seems correct, but something still doesn't fit the puzzle and I will definitely check it again :]
Thank you, I hope so too and thank you for leaving a comment!

Even if they taxed everything including shipping it should be around 12-13 CHF.

Well, at least you're happy with your order. :D

D_A_R (3 months ago) #73671316I think it's weird, that you had to pay 50 bucks extra. Books are duty free if you order them online, as long as the value isn't over 200 CHF. - You gotta know your stuff, otherwise they might charge you for things you don't have to pay. I had similiar things happening with the customs in Germany, back when I regularly ordered from the US.
Hope everything works out with your car.

medrawd (3 months ago) #73648368Oh, thank you for the many compliments and yes, it was delicious! :>
It's only when ordering from the US and I think it has something to do with missing transatlantic trade agreements or so, don't quote me on that though.(I usually dont pay customs for items from Japan or Asia in general).

When you say gear shift, do you mean an automatic or standard transmission?
A standard is (relatively) cheap + easy to fix, automatic not so much.

Not sure how the logistics / economics work in Switzerland, but if your automatic transmission went out, you could consider one from a yard. Yes, you're rolling the dice, but I've had good luck with that in keeping my beater car in college going for years.

Feel your pain though, transmission went out on my old daily driver on my birthday last year.
So I bought a brand new car as a birthday gift to myself that very day! :P

Aahhh, the book looks so nice! I only just finished season two so I'm not familiar with the majority of the trio, but I love doujinshi so this definitely has my eye. Too bad they aren't still selling it though.

Ouch >.< I looked up the book and its a very limited release book so I can see why you were willing to buy it from America.

Still, with all the goodies you got and since you love the trios, I guess you can say it was well worth it!

And for your car, I'd say replace it only if cost of repairs is double than the cost of the vehicle... But then again buying a new (or used) car with monthly payments sucks but you get the piece of mind about the reliability (more or less). I have a 12 year old car and while it shows its age, it's still a good car and I do wish my car would last as long as your car ^^

Cloudberry (3 months ago) #73647833Your English is pretty good. If you didn't say anything, I'd guess you were a native English speaker the whole time.
    Ouch, 50 euros at customs for just a book? I can see why many European users here complain about it :{
Sorry to hear about your car though; its always doing a small detour or side quest that always leads car issues... But at least that doughnut was delicious right? ^^
That vest looks pretty awesome btw!
