Comments Advice on Storage + Gift Wrapping?

  • Anivera12 days ago#102402669Ahh! I'm doing the same thing for my friend! Her birthday is this weekend and I got her 2 popup parade figures :) I personally decided to wrap each figure box in colored tissue paper and placed them both in a decent sized box that I filled with other small gifts, candy, and shredded crinkle paper! I then wrapped the bigger box in regular wrapping paper and put a bow on it!

Oh, that's so sweet and wonderful, I hope that she loves the gifts and has a lovely birthday! Putting other little things inside of the box is actually a great idea, too! Maybe if I can think of some small things I can pack in alongside I can do the same! Thank you for telling me about how you packed your gifts, that's really such a nifty idea!

Milady-Alluca12 days ago#102402576That's really sweet and thoughtful of you to obtain that for your friend! Will you be gifting them the figure in person or shipping it to them? I think you're implying a physical exchange so I'll advise on that but lemme know if it's otherwise ^^
Luckily there's not a lot you'd need to do to store the figure safely. If you wanna be ultra cautious, get some plain white tissue paper to wrap around the entire outside of the box and tape it down (tape tissue paper to tissue paper, do not apply tape directly to the box!). Then you can use bubble wrap or cushion some crumbled packing paper in a box and place the figure box inside. Close it up, and store in your closet or ideally a climate controlled place out of direct sunlight, high heat, and no moisture. Moisture and high heat are the major worries at that stage. But other than safe tucking away, there's nothing else you would have to worry about storage-wise ^^

I will be giving this physically, my apologies as I should have been more clear in my post! That's great to know that I should mainly keep it packed up and away from moisture, heat and sunlight, luckily at the moment I live somewhere that stays mostly cold where the sun doesn't come out often so that part won't be a concern! Thank you so much for your insight!

As for wrapping it up as a gift, I would suggest putting it in a cute gift bag with tissue paper. But if you're like me and like watching people open wrapping paper, you can put the figure box in another box and wrap it or be careful and put wrapping paper over the figure box. Tape the wrapping paper only to itself and the figure box.

A second box to wrap over it is a great idea, thank you so much for the suggestion! I do like to have things wrapped up for people to open like that too, so I think I'll most definitely find a box that the fig box can fit in!

LemonMIntCat12 days ago#102402589You can try to get a large gift bag and some colorful tissue paper instead, that way there is no tape on the figure box. Or if you still have the shipping box you can pack the figure back inside and gift wrap the exterior shipping box. Not sure on where you are located but overstock stores like ollies, TJ Maxx and Marshalls often have gift supplies cheaper than places like Target. This is a very sweet thing of you to do, I hope your friend loves the figure!

Unfortunately I don't have the box that the figure shipped in as it got bashed up a bit en route to me, but I think I will definitely go with the box inside a box idea! And oh, thank you so much for the store suggestions! I do live within the US, I could definitely try to see if I have those places somewhere nearby to look for gift wrapping supplies!

Thank you all so much for the suggestions and advice, I appreciate it a lot! Wow, this community is so friendly!
