considering neet culture as a whole (coming from a japanese perspective) is almost entirely male-facing, this journal (which is essentially complaining about girls in the fandom) sounds absolutely no different than the people you're complaining about

"threatening to quit collecting because of no male figures? wtf?"
I agree thats dumb but aren't you the person who said they were boycotting fate because a mobile game isn't traditionally available in their country lmao,, its the same concept

i've been a collector for about 6 years now and here's the thing i've learned: it doesn't matter what is being made, people are going to complain about it.

when the landscape was mostly female figures, people complained that there wasn't enough variety or the poses were boring. when manufacturers starting making different characters or different variations of characters in better poses, people complained that we needed more males. now that we are getting male figures people are complaining that they're not the "right" male characters. when the "right" male characters get made they'll probably get mad because maybe the poses are boring or they're not being made companies they like or they're not cheap enough, and it'll keep going from there.

there is a problem with a lack of male figures but in the past couple of years it's improved greatly. it'll keep getting better. but even then there will probably never come a day that someone isn't complaining about something stupid in this hobby.

I honestly don't get what point you're trying to make lol

BTW, did you just call the company behind Fate GO "racist" because (based on your previous blog posts), you feel they don't treat foreign players as well as their JP player base? Because if that's the case, then oh boy...

Despite being Japanese, Fate GO is honestly so generous to its foreign player base because they've been trying to popularize the franchise outside of Japan.

I really think you're taking those comments the wrong way, by far. People ask for other characters in those situations because they are happy with the one they're commenting on. Especially with a show like YoI where people pair those characters together. If a casual!CharacterA is announced it's only natural to want a casual!CharacterB to go along with it.

If it were a character from another series I'd agree with you. Like how Utsutsu's figures would have a bunch of "It's not Saya (character who looks similar), so who cares" comments from people who wanted a Saya figure. I think that's where a line should exist.

riringo (2 months ago) #25824474Tbh I never really got that part. Like if you really love a figure why does other people's comments upset you? Figures are commodities, and just like every other product, some people will like, and others won't. The most I've ever reacted to negative comments to a figure I like is feeling slightly sorry that they don't see what I see, but that's about it.

It's mainly when lots of people put the same thing. Such as with the second Yuuri nendoroid, at first the comments were filled with people asking for more Viktor. It was just Viktor Viktor Viktor Viktor Viktor Viktor. As someone who likes Yuuri I don't really like going to comments and seeing EVERYONE ask for Viktor instead of just being happy that another nendoroid was made.

But if it was just 1 or 2 people saying 'oh I hope they make another Viktor nendoroid' or 'i hope they make more characters seen as they are continuing the line' I wouldn't mind. But there's no need for people to repeat the same thing over and over again.

Some people just like to rant. It's their reason to live and communicate. Let them be.
It's sad that so many people like to rant and upvote rant, though.

    Also:

    Popular Character:
'Why is the character being made but not this one?'
'Why are they making this character again?'

    Figures that become high demand:
'Why did this increase in price and not bin?'

    Simple figures:
'Why is the pose so boring?'

    Unpopular Companies:
'Why is this company making this figure and instead of this company?'

    Price:
'Why is the price so high? Companies are becoming more tight'

    Prize figures:
'Why cant we have a scale?'

And the list go on and on of people complaining about anything. Because if it's not perfect then people complain.

Which sucks because when you really love a figure and are really excited about it there's always someone in the comments section to bring you down.

DonkeyBlonkey (2 months ago) #25806452People are free to say what they want (whether your agree or feel indifferent about it)
I will agree that male figures are lacking. It's really in the numbers that female heroines sell a lot more than their male counterparts to both audiences.
My issue primarily is with people who complain that a company should make this character instead of this, refuse to buy other characters in the line/rather hopes for a bargain bin. It's reasons like that why your character isn't or won't be made.

I agree with you, there are several male figures that should've been made that re probably never going to be made. For instince: Subaru (re:zero) and Kazuma (konosuba).
