I use hlj for nearly everything now, you can cancel preorders from the orders page and they have their private warehouse which you can hold things in for up to 60 days and combined them into single shipments.

Rajke (8 days ago) #45116296Maybe an off topic question, but is it necessary to order on a regular base when using an AmiAmi account?

Nope, I just worded that strangely. I meant that I had too many preorders, and I couldn't afford to pay for them at the time, so I had to shut down my account and not order for a while. Sorry for the confusion.

With HLJ I think you can cancel items if you haven't paid for them yet (I'm not 100% sure if that's still the case because I haven't used them in like 2 years). So if you want to cancel regularly then they will be best. Plus they have the warehouse which is good for combining items.

Hobbysearch (1999) is also really good. I can't remember what they're ordering system is like whether you had to contact them to split or combine orders, I'm sure it's for one or the other. (but again I haven't ordered from them in a year so things could have changed).

CDjapan I'm certain you have to pay upfront. I'm not sure how combining orders with them works because I can't remember if you have to pay shipping upfront or not -.-

NipponYasan you have to pay before the first item is released which can be pain because you cant split orders once they've been paid. So if an item gets delayed the whole order gets delayed. I really dislike that system so I only use them if theres 1 large figure I want.

BiginJapan I'm actually banned from but they're good. If you think you'll cancel more then this isn't the site to go for though.

So out of the two sites you gave I would say HLJ but if you can use HobbySearch I would recommend them as well. But for the past 2 years I've only used AA so I don't really have any recent experinece -.-

Oh wow, that's not even that much... Only like 1 a year. I'm really surprised they terminated your account if that was it.

Regarding CDJapan, I already closed my account with them so I can't say much about now but according to my previous experiences and why I closed my account, they always overcharge shipping fees. Their shipping fees are pre-calculated and that may not reflect directly to the actual shipping fees nor do they refund you the differences. For one parcel I paid 2900 Yen for shipping and when I received the parcel, it clearly states 2200 Yen on the packing slip. Talk about shady business. And they don't offer big discount like Amiami or 1999.

I like buying books from them but again, I am very uptight about the book conditions (when I buy new I want them to be new). It happened to me that some books had obvious scratches on the cover. And sometimes they were packed really really well, it had dent. I really doubt it was the shipping's fault.
