^_^ It really is a shame that no one knows KKM... It was super popular as trading card sets, so most of my card trader friends watched it, but they've all disappeared by now lol. I did a livestream unboxing of some YJP auctions I won that had a bunch of KKM cards in it and I was trying to describe the plot and everyone was like 'whaaaattt he got swirlied down a toilet to another world??' and they couldn't get past that haha. I used to read some of the novel translations on lj, but the translators stopped and my Japanese isn't good enough to read novels. If you know of a site that still has/continued the translations I would love to continue reading them!

I agree, the fact that they stuffed almost everything to see into one space (dealers, artists, games, food), made it so congested. The previous years everything was more spread out, so it was easier to navigate and didn't feel as packed because people were in multiple areas. I straight up skipped sections because I saw the crowd and was like 'nope.' I can guarantee I would have bought more if it hadn't been that crowded and if I wasn't worried about my purchases getting damaged. And the number of times someone almost spilled their food on me? Ugh. I would have been devastated for us both in that situation since they probably waited an hour to get that tiny plate. Who puts food booths in the middle of a dealer's room, which sell food that's not meant to be taken on the go, and doesn't give people a proper place to sit to eat? Or at least a clear avenue out of the area so they could sit downstairs.

I didn't do as much in official programming as I originally planned since we got to the con later than I'd wanted both Friday and Saturday due to cosplay issues, and the lines for panels were out the wazoo. So it was mostly hanging with friends and photoshoots for me. I don't remember off the top of my head what that artist's name is, but I'll look through my stuff and see if I can find their info somewhere :)

I only got two figures- the Salter nendo from Fate (since I hadn't originally wanted her when the wonfest preorders went up then changed my mind after they closed) and the Kaworu QPosket from Eva (Amiami never got him, even though I got Asuka and Rei there). Other than that, for official merch, I only got Sailor Moon StarS Part 2 bluray and the second collector's edition manga of CCS. The Furuba LE bluray boxset was waiting for me when I got home too (I did enjoy the Furuba photo op at the con though). I hear you on Kino's prices... sometimes it isn't so bad, but most of the time I look at them and am like 'really??'

I think overall the con organizers just had a lack of logic and maybe tried to cut some corners.. It's probably more expensive to get/secure multiple large areas than one larger one... they'd need to hire more staff and security to properly monitor those large crowds in multiple areas. Here's to hoping next year is better organized!

AH YES a fellow fan. It's such a funny/great series and so few seem to know it, it makes me sad. The Light Novels are actually fans translated online, I should get back to reading those. I would love love for an official release though so I could buy them.

Yeah it was a little messy, they also had no real clear divider between exhibit hall and artist alley which I think was needed. I'm glad they doubled in space and had SO much going on, but the artist alley needed to be spread out better as they had so many tables and there was not enough room to get around. Like 3/4ths through I was so overwhelmed I just wanted to be done with it and probably would have bought more if it wasn't such a headache. Do you remember what artist did the sticker/keychain? I didn't get a card and she had such nice stuff.

Also to have the food booths in like the middle of the two sides was a god awful idea, the lines for that were crazy and made it hard to get around. Sunday, I managed to get some bubble tea because there was no line. I wanted to try the curry but lol the line and I saw how little was actually in the container and decided to just forget it.

I will say I came early on Saturday because there was a Vofan panel my brother wanted to go to and the line to get into the panel hall was wild. All because they had the concert panel going on so it was all the Love Live stands and it was just so funny.

I didn't buy figures this year - I almost got the phat Aqua from Good Smile but decided not to. I was hoping Kinokuniya might have a figure that tempted me but they didn't. Although, their markup on some things is ridiculous, but, alas as it is with most us stores.

A fellow KKM fan! Such an underrated series, I love it so much. I have the original DVD releases of the first two seasons in the LE boxes, so I don't plan on rebuying them on bluray, but I've been super pumped the OVAs and third season are finally being released. It gives me hope that maybe one day they'll pick the manga back up, or even that they'll actually translate the light novels!

I was at AnimeNYC too. The place was WAY overpacked and the artist alley should never have been in the dealers room.. it was a mess. I was cosplaying most of the time, so couldn't really see everything the first two days, I finally finished going through the whole thing on Sunday. Got a lot of similar loot as you did (I even got the keychain version of the Milim sticker you got) but not as much as I had been anticipating - a bunch of artist alley prints/keychains/pins, a few plushies, some wearable stuff (shirts/hats), and a couple of figures. Very light haul compared to my usual. It was still a good con, but I gave them quite a bit of feedback, and hopefully they'll do better next year

Jess-chan (8 days ago) #71275844I went to Anime NYC on Saturday! There was so much to see in so little time and yeah so many lines @.@
There was sooo much this year. In the end I was glad to have gone all three days because there was no way I would have been able to get it all done in a day this year.

Saturday we finished the artist alley which ugh was busy and a little sloppily laid out this year but okay

Then sunday it was the exhibitor booths which god sooo many of those

I remember buying prints from the girl I got the keychains from last year. I saw Megumin after we'd purchased from her and I was like maybe but by the time I went back to get her she was sold out :C She has a lot of really great keychains.

I wish I had gotten a business card from the lady who did the stickers, she had a lot of cute stuff. I need to see if my brother has her card because he bought a couple of prints.

Honestly the NGNL figures made the month for me, made the year really. I'm so glad I got to get Schwi because honestly the figure is just SO pretty I can't get over her and one can never go wrong with Jibs.

Well, I think because it's based on the 5th Light Novel (the one the movie is based on) the Megumin figure is meant to kind of set a feeling and it does a good job at that while still being really cute to boot.

    Thank you <3

You should! Especially, if you don't already own the series (which I do on dvd but yolo), I love the art cards, I'm thinking I need to order some frames for them and hang them up because, uh, it'd be a shame to keep them hidden.

I am too! I was not spending $80 on her in resale. She got such a quick re-release too, now waiting for Aki to actually go up and then they announced Ena, so will have the whole crew!

I love the Nadeshiko, Megumin and Mai keychains, and the Zero Two sticker is also so, so adorable. So much beautiful No Game No Life merchandise, the Jibril and Shuvi figures look beautiful. The Nadeshiko Nendoroid, speaking of her, is also nice. That figure of Megumin leaning on the pillow is so atmospheric for some strange reason...hahah!
I have VOFAN’s art book as well, and it’s amazing. Plus I see so many other great series in your photos.
    Great loot.
