SNasabal (4 years ago) #1448575Ok, I've posted two new pictures. One is of the exclusive poster made just for the US premiere of Tsubasa at Sakura-Con in '07. There is a great story that goes along with the reason why I got extra doodles from some of the English cast. He, he, he. I was also able to get the postcard signed by all of them and that is in with my keychains for the series. Let me know what you think?

Wow, that is pretty awesome! Vic did come to a convention here about a year ago but by the time I got to line up for his signature they were turning people away, so sadly I missed out on that. Those keychains are pretty cute too. So yeah, I am a little envious! :)

I'm personally quite proud of my figure collection although it's not quite as large as some people. I've only been collecting for a year and I already have almost 300 figures ^_^
My manga collection is about the same with over 300 items in just over a year. I have about 80ish artbooks too :D I've only had disposable income for a bit over a year so I'm really happy with it :D

Then the games ahaa! Luckily my partner is incredibly supportive of it all :) He loves to buy technology and I love to buy anime-relevant goods, so we always bounce off each other in our excitement :D

Carmina (4 years ago) #1448199Ooh I'm intrigued to see what you will post...
I think I got Sensitive Pornograph from Amazon but it was some time ago. I think its pretty hard to find these days- someone else was telling me that had to pay a fortune to get it. I have Finder too, except for volume 4, which I can seem to track down. The other one I think you're referring to is the Crimson Spell, which is only available in English up to volume 2 due to the demise of Tokyopop. Junjou Romantica stopped at 12 in English too for the same reason and now is hard to come by too. Its really irritating that these things just stop like that and no one else picks them up! I buy a lot of my manga from Amazon but in the UK we also have these guys who do conventions a lot www.facebook.co... (they have a website that seems to go up and down and might even ship international). For US based stores I quite like RightStuf.
Yeah one day I'll have all my manga on display but this shall have to be when we can afford to move to a bigger place!

OMG! I just looked on Amazon for the Crimson Spell and someone wants $75 and Up US for the 2nd volume. Ah, yeah! I am just going to have to luck up on that title again.

What is with the crazy obsession with people who collect things all of a sudden on TV? Hoarders is about people that keep EVERYTHING, including 10 year old trash. Collection Intervention sounds bad, like they try to tell you it's a bad thing to collect. That's not how it was right? Then there's My Crazy Obsession and My Collection Obsession on TLC. I haven't watched the first one, but I watched an episode of the second and it was actually nice! This one lady had over 4000 snowmen, but it was so organized and they didn't make her out to seem crazy. Which I found pretty nice. I watched and episode of Clean House and I raged so hard when they made some lady sell her entire collection of Disney figures. Rawr.

You've got a long way to go though. The Guinness Record for most keychains is over 41000. Are there that many anime keychains out there I wonder?

Isn't it wonderful to have a supportive spouse? My collection has grown exponentially thanks to mine. And I'm with you, I mostly wear pants and a cute shirt and that's it. Clothes are a rarity around here. More money for stuffs!

I don't have any pictures yet, but I'm working on it! Whenever I get it done, I'll make to let you know!

SNasabal (4 years ago) #1448163Oh, you are a girl after my own heart. :-) Since you love Tsubasa so much I am going to try to post a picture of something. Let me know if you feel a bit of envy or jealously from it. LOL! Depending on your answer I will know just how good of an item it is in my collection. ( I know I can be dork sometimes. LOL!)
Now, onto the yaoi topic~Girl! I just watched that sensitive pornograph. WOW! Do you have the manga for that? If, so where did you get it? I seem to have a hard time finding yaoi for sell. I really would appreciate you giving me some suggestions of vendors. I started so late getting the Junjou Romantica that my collection is so incomplete and it bugs the hell out of me. I am missing vol 2 and 5 I believe. Now I have all of the Finder Series but lost somewhere in this darn house the manga about the prince that was cursed. I forgot the name of that one. We got a new bedroom set and I had to move my bookshelve out so that the movers could get it in and I lost the book then. I am soooo pissed about that. I really loved that story. And, I got the book for free from the vendor when I ordered my other yaoi.
Now, don't be sad about the boxed up goodies you have. I have complete faith in you and I that we will have our "Geek Cave" soon. And, it will be glooooooriousss!

Carmina (4 years ago) #1448034I read most things, including shounen and shoujo, but I like my yaoi too! My favorite regular titles are Soul Eater, Pandora Hearts, Natsume's book of friends, Blue Exorcist, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and X. My favorite yaoi is sensitive pornograph, Junjou Romantica and Ayano Yamane's works. My yaoi collection does evoke some mockery from the other half as well, who teases me for my collection of 2-d porn and makes me hide it when the in-laws visit. Like you I tend to pick up things I've watched, especially as quite often the anime will stop before the story finished and I'm aching to know what happens. I like manga for reading on the train in to work (although not the yaoi!). The big problem with collecting manga is the space issue. Quite a lot of it is sadly boxed up now.

SNasabal (4 years ago) #1448024Thanks so much Carmina. It sounds like you have a great collection as well. What genre do you like the most? I am the type of person that likes to watch a movie first then go and read the book if I really like it. I find that I am the same way with my anime. I will watch the whole anime series then go back to the manga and get the juicy details that were left out because of time, censors or editing.
I have to admit though I only have a very small manga collection at the moment. And, to my Husband's dismay at times it is almost all Yaoi! I caught on to this genre when we went to Anime Expo a few years back. He calls it "Mamma's Porn" heck he says that about my historical romance novels also. LOL! Dang! I must really love this man to put up with his teasing me so much. LOL!

Carmina (4 years ago) #1447674Congratulations. My biggest collection is probably my manga, which is probably at around 400 individual volumes. After that is probably my CLAMP stuff and my Hetalia stuff, although those are nowhere near as large as yours.

Thanks so much Carmina. It sounds like you have a great collection as well. What genre do you like the most? mintbunny (4 years ago) #1447638Holy hell, congratulations! Now that's a collection! I wish I loved something that much, I just end up jumping around from one thing to another.
My biggest collection is Sailor Moon. I have 122 items listed here and maybe another 100+ not listed. I would have a lot more, but I do spend my money on lots of other things. I display it on bookshelves lining the walls of my toy room. My plans for the future is when we get a house with a basement. Nerd cave here I come!

Heck yeah! Mintbunny now that is what I am talking about. Thanks so much for the praise. My Husband teases me and calls it my crack! LOL! He keeps saying that he'll put me on that TV show "Hoarders". I told him if my collection makes it to a TV show it will be the Guinness World Book of Records. I am sure that my husband would never let me get to the show "Collection Intervention" that was on SyFy. LOL! Hence, the reason why I picked keychains to begin with. They don't take up much room. Right now you wouldn't even know I have that many keychains. I have them neatly organized and put in the plastic bins you see in one of the pictures I posted here and all of my bins fit under my desk in our home office.

I know it seems like I don't spend my money on anything else put I do. LOL! I live in a house with nothing but men/boys and I have to have something that helps with the stress of those babies (Son 24, Son 15, Husband 7 or I mean 43). Truthfully, I've been blessed with a very supportive husband. I've been able to get some great anniversary and birthday cash out of him to go shopping for anime goods. I am by no means a fashion Diva so no name brands here.

Do you have pictures of some of your collection? I would love to see them.
