Baccano!Baccano! The harshness of having to live for eternity

Baccano! (バッカーノ! Bakkāno!, Italian for "racket" or "ruckus", Italian pronunciation: [bakˈkaːno]) is a Japanese light novel series written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Katsumi Enami. The series, often told from multiple points of view, is mostly set within a fictional United States during various time periods, most notably the Prohibition era. It focuses on various people, including alchemists, thieves, thugs, Mafiosi and Camorristi, who are unconnected to one another. After an immortality elixir is recreated in 1930 Manhattan, the characters begin to cross paths, setting off events that spiral further and further out of control.

Yen Press is officially translating the 2015-2017 Baccano! manga series! This short series has 3 volumes in total and all three are already announced and available for pre-order.

Japanese database information:

Volume 1: item #632539 English release by Yen Press: 12 Dec 2017
Volume 2: item #632541 English release by Yen Press: 20 Mar 2018
Volume 3: item #632543 English release by Yen Press: 22 May 2018

I'm not really convinced by the art (yet), anybody over here already read the (fan) translations or the Japanese version?

I pre-ordered them anyway, because Baccano!...

Note: Also changed image for club header, because old one was a dead image.

WindsorSeven (5 months ago) #23296355Like the bookmark, but man do I wish those doujins were art books. Do any even exist?

Hrmm, not that I have personally seen. I still randomly find a Baccano! doujinshi I never saw before every now and then, so there must be some out there? View spoilerHide spoilerAlthough most of the doujins I find are quite raunchy ones concerning Ennis together with strangers... :/ If you make porn, at least make use of the tons of Baccano! characters that are out there, dammit! xD

Got my English translation of the book today! :D

I'm very glad to see that it is hardcover and with high quality pages. The book is black and white and the first few pages are in full color. Also nice is that underneath the slipcover there is silver lettering with the title of the book.

Can't wait to start reading it tonight! ^^

WindsorSeven (1 year ago) #8971605D: Me neither! Oh, though I'm wondering, do you know why the page count is different from the JP release? By...a lot lol.

It's very hard to find any official information that can verify this, but my guess is that the page size of the Western release is a lot bigger than the JP release. That would also mean bigger printed artwork inside the book, so I'm not complaining if this is true! :>
