Wonderful WonFes

Wonder Festival or WonFes is a festival held twice a year in Chiba (near Tokyo), where all major figure manufacturers unveil their newest products. It is also the place where countless garage kit circles show and sell their latest creations.
This is the place where everything related to this most famous figure festival can find a place, regardless of when it was reveiled.
Pictures, figures, stories... all are welcome here!

Chloe-tsundere (1 year ago) #21745666Im considering going to wonfes on my trip to japan.. august if we manage if not, winter.
Any advice?
How long should i wait in line?
Any preparations I need to make? I was thinking about a parasol, sunblock and a blanket..
Do any of em understand english.. i may need some basic japanese perhaps?
Or might it be better to start with a small convention like treasurefest?

Victory3114 (1 year ago) #28793297Is there anyone offering a proxy service for the upcoming WonFest Winter 2018? There's a garage kit I really want, but I can't attend myself...

See my newest post here on the forum. My proxies are very expensive but they're some of the best in the business at getting kits for people, which is why I pay out the nose for them. ^^ I can try to help if you're interested.

Coffee (2 years ago) #12810798I sent an email to From Japan asking for their fees for picking up items at events and got:
"Basic fee: 5000 yen
Hourly fee: 2000 yen
Transportation fee

Please kindly note that in case we can't get the item, as long
as we visit the item location the fees will be charged regardless
of whether we are able to obtain the item(s) or not (in the case
that an item is sold out, etc.)."

I'm still not sure whether or not I want something, but I think making a group order via FJ could be a decent choice for buying things from WonFes.

Just a note, I've used them in the past around 2 years ago (I think? Time escapes me anymore) and they're pretty terrible. :( Unreliable pickup services are the whole reason I found my own proxy/deputy service. It's a lot more expensive, but honestly it's a lot more reliable too! For some perspective:

I had them try and get 3 kits for me, one person. They got none of them.

Doing a group order for this would be pretty much impossible, because how are you going to decide which person's kits are "more important", because the lower down on the list the more likely chance you are of getting the kit. (This is true even with my own proxy, but I'm able to work with the people joining me and we all come to an agreement regarding it.)

I just want to let people know to be wary of this sort of thing, because FJ's "collection service" kind of sucks in general, I've heard other stories from people as well, not just involving things like WonFes.
