Have you ever...

...bought a figure and got mad when discoreved the scale is completely nonsense?

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/413/new1zk.jpg
...tried to create a diorama with different characters, but could not go on because the producer didn't show the correct scale?

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/9218/fuckthisshit.jpg
...saw these big announcements using that ridiculous apple, in front of a kit, to "give an idea" of the scale? OMFG, since when an apple is an unit measurement?

The height of the picture is one of the most basic information about any model. If the producer, seller or reviewer can't explain this to you, I present an revolutionary tool capable to make your day better:

THE R-U-L-E-R.

If you take many pictures of a your kit, take one more using the ruler - you'll finish this bad habit and help a future owner. ;)

ADVICES TO HELP YOU

+ BRO TIPS: avoid transparent rulers and polluted backgrounds;
+ PARTS: ignore the base, just measure the model;
+ POSITION: the model and the ruler must be parallel and very close to each other;
+ MEASURING: from feet to head. Details that just increase a false value to this (helmets, standup arms, long swords, flying capes...) should be noted, but disregarded

MikuruBeamEven if that was true (which I highly doubt) the problem could be easily solved if we include a ruler next to the apple. Simple!
xDDD
You should visit my local farmer's market sometime. In addition to "regular" size apples, there's both tiny and big ones. The tiny ones are really cute :D

I joined this club because of the apple.
Idea! Instead of a ruler, each photo should include an apple next to the figure, so everyone can see the "apple height" to "figure height" ratio.
I think this makes it a lot easier to tell the actual size of a figure.
