Mr_chalk (2 months ago) #26443880Hey, I don't suppose you heard back from UK AN did you?

I haven't. I messaged them again, to inform them it is a widespread issue and they just wished me luck in getting my money back :(

DHL were supposed to deliver something to me (got the text in the morning), but they didn't. Status still says item with courier. Should I just call them up or what? :I Never used DHL before.

Edit: Got the same text today as I did yesterday. Let's see if it actually arrives this time.

Akunin (3 months ago) #25716551They *used* to be a very good company and one of my most used. I actually contacted UK Anime Network who said although EoA are no longer a sponsor, they will see if they can contact them and find out what is going on. I will hopefully hear back by Monday and any luck and it will help the news spread that they are no longer a trust worthy company.

solluxcaptor (2 months ago) #26256766Anyone else having weird SAL lately? I ordered two things within days of eachother and one arrived over a week ago yet the other hasn't even entered the UK...

For me, everything coming through Tokyo takes ages, but stuff coming through Osaka is so fast.

It doesn't actually say. It just states that I don't fit their 'criteria'. I have sent them an email to ask if they can explain and also mentioned the nature of the payments I made, though I have no idea if this will have any impact.

I did go onto the Citizen's Advice website earlier, which directed me on to an online dispute resolution page. I have put in my complaint against EoA, which will be sent on to them via email. If they don't reply I believe a resolution board will look into the case and make a decision. It could take around 2-3 months though *sigh*

Mr_chalk (3 months ago) #25722482How long do you have before you can't open a dispute with paypal? I have two other pre-orders that I paid the deposit for via PayPal in February; one is releasing this month and the other is set to release next February.
The Rias and Akeno preorders I paid for via debit card, so I figure that it should be easier to get the money back for them if I need too.
Do PayPal say why they keep siding with EoA?

With Paypal you have 6 months I think to claim back, so you might be close to the limit with your February payment.
Debit card, your bank should hopefully help there with a chargeback..
But yeah...I hope it works out for you :)
And I'd be curious to know too why PP sided with them...

Bearcat (3 months ago) #25718582I finally just opened a claim with Paypal and got the last payments back but not the original deposits, but I just wanted to be done with them :(

I am in dispute with paypal over £161 of deposit money, they have sided each time with EoA, but I am currently looking into other methods of getting my money back.

Bearcat (3 months ago) #25718220Ooh really? Interesting, I wonder why they went downhill...keep us posted with what you find out :)
I will do ^_^

Mr_chalk (3 months ago) #25717184I see, thanks for the heads up! What was the order you managed to eventually get?
It's odd though; I bought a figure from them off Ebay, only to immediately ask for a refund and they were plenty responsive then. I guess they have to be good on Ebay or they'll get shit ratings.
When you were dealing with them, how were you contacting them? Email? Phone? The message I sent was through the form on their contact us page. Their Ebay page lists sales@eyeonasia.co.uk as a contact email.

I primarily contacted them via facebook as they actually replied, but their facebook page has been shut down now. I have tried every method possible to get a response, homepage, eBay, Twitter... I even found them on here, though their page is pretty much dead.

The order I did receive was the Native Aoba.
I'll put a spoiler for the details as it's long :D
View spoilerHide spoilerThe timeline was:
I POed him in July 2016, paid deposit, heard nothing til march, when I started asking them about it, only response was No idea when he'll be in stock.
Fast forward to May when I get the Please pay the rest of the amount as figure will be ready to ship in 1-2 weeks email.
So I pay. Weeks pass, in June I start messaging them via their contact form and also on their FB page (that now seems to be gone).
Throughout June I must have sent 10 emails...not one reply...
So I thought OK, I've waited and waited so on June 26th I send them a request for refund as I paid nearly 2 months prior for a figure supposedly to be shipped, they immediately respond saying of course! We'll refund you! Apologies, etc etc...
I wait. No refund comes, 2 weeks pass, package shows up at my door -_-
At this point I was pissed because I had 2 more orders, that they made me pay for in April (POs from October 2016) and that they had also agreed to refund me, and never did so my husband bought them for me elsewhere while we were waiting for a refund. So I wrote them again many times to ask for refund and they never replied (meanwhile the POed figures appeared on their site as in stock, and then couple days later out of stock...).
I finally just opened a claim with Paypal and got the last payments back but not the original deposits, but I just wanted to be done with them :(

I did hear their ebay store is taken care of by a different person than the shop, and with ebay you can't really pull that BS as there are rules to follow. But yeah, pisstaking experience overall >_<
