The item in question is 73cm x 52cm in size and I hoped they could send it out via SAL small packet tube, which has a size limitation of 90cm I believe.
Please don't tell me they will put it in a regular shipping box...... O_____O


When I ordered these two: item #338107 item #358894 They sent it together in a long rectangular box, it was something like this:

The shipping rate in that moment was 1350 yens by EMS, sent to USA, that was before the increase in Japan Post rates, so it was a while ago. But I don't know if it's SAL shippable.

If you are just ordering a scroll, the should put it in a scroll-shaped box. With AmiAmi, when shipping hasn't been listed, I've always had a reply when I've messaged them to ask.

Do they split orders? Mine went over the 2kg by very little and the SAL parcel difference is too much.

And do you know how many cancellations they take before they ban you?

Yes, they split orders, you need to send them a message before the payment deadline. You can simply ask to split it or ask specifically how you want in split, I mean, which items you want in one box (if you're sure they fit into small packet ofc).

As for cancellations, they might allow a few but you never know how many times they will let you do that.

I have never seen that message before, but to me it sounds like she is cancelled or the maker not made sufficient to fulfill all the orders and don't plan to do it. Sorry >_<

After the deadline they won't make any changes to orders, you'll have to pay the bill or they cancel. Try to contact them again, make sure all the info about your order is in a message, when I needed to make changes I always sent messages as replies to their mails (payment request or sth), they still have one email address for everything so they should see your message. Delay might be because of the weekend, or they're just busy, it won't hurt to write again :)

It seems I'm always asking shipping questions, but..

I have an order coming up later this month, with a nendo, an art book, two-three keychains, and a CD (4 disc).
I have to ship them EMS Because of the CD, but like an idiot, I put my Re:Zero art book pre order with it, and found out they are really expensive on shipping for books later. I don't actually want to cancel, but I was wondering if it's cheaper on me to have them split the book from the order into its own, and go with reg SAL. I know normally combining is best, but I REALLY don't want like $60 in shipping fees. Will it really be that bad? And will it go through customs with no fees? I have never used EMS before.

Heads up for anyone in Mexico:

Due to the recent earthquake that struck the country, the Mexican postal service has requested Japan Post to temporarily stop all shipments to Mexico. For this reason, all shipments from Japan to Mexico are currently suspended.

Because of a figure that was switched in release date from september to october, probably a family member will have to do the payment for me.
So I was asked how to do the payment and I wanna give the correct explanation, but it's quite I while so I don't remember everything.
If I remember right, you get an email first with a secured link and select that link.
Then you get redirected and have to log in to your amiami account and go to 'Orders Awaiting Payment'.
You select the hotkey with the order number and name of the item and get directed to a four steps payment process.
But I dunno which steps there were in the payent process and in which sequence these steps are.

Can anyone help? Are the things I already wrote correct?

That's pretty correct. But if you wanna make it easier for everyone involved why not have the family member send the money to your PayPal so you can do it yourself?

That's pretty correct. But if you wanna make it easier for everyone involved why not have the family member send the money to your PayPal so you can do it yourself?


Because it's not the problem I don't have the money, it's that I'm maybe not there.
So I wanted to give an explanation how to do payment via PayPal. Although amiami told me there is a direct link to PayPal, that's not how I remember it.
In this 4 steps if I remember correctly, there is the following to be done.
1. Choose address for the invoice and shipping address
2. Choose shipping method
3. Choose payment method
4. You get redirected to PayPal and log in to your account
5. You get redirected back to amiami and finish the process.

Is this right or did I forget anything?

it is normal, just wait, sooner or later: maybe today or maybe monday or maybe after 2-3 days they will took your item out and they will send the invoice email

AmiAmi is weird like that sometimes. Sometimes, when an item is delayed, they'll notify you immediately and split the order but other times it can take them a week to do so. It always seems to take them longer when this happens at the end of the month, as presumably they've got their hands full processing monthly orders.

You can always send them a message through their contact page and ask them to split off the delayed items. When I've done that, they've always split the order inside the next business day.
