Oh that sounds so neat!! You're braver than me, I'm still scared to do any kind of drilling haha. I just painted the earrings on with some metallic paint.
Well it was definitely nerve-wrecking! Not as nerve wrecking as the other piercings I gave her though. What you have to do is drill a tiny pilot hole to prevent the bigger drill bit from "traveling." (some of that happened on one of her ears, but thankfully it's very well hidden because of her design).
For her other piercings, I realized halfway through that it was going to be impossible to make truly functional piercings that small, since I would need to form a flat part on the rings. When working with small bits of stiff wire, it becomes almost impossible to bend/form it accurately, and I have big man hands so that doesn't help. I ended up having to go out on a limb and use a tiny dab of Gorilla Glue instead to secure it in place. It turned out alright though, I think, just not the way I had originally intended it.
My plan is to give her a "heavy metal makeover" with tattoos and everything, since that's a look I really like. I found some cool tattoo decals that are supposedly sized for certain scale figures. The scary part with that is applying the top coat(s) without getting any on parts I don't want it on. I'm thinking lots of painter's tape will be necessary.
I wanted to repaint her hair too, but I'm not sure how best to do that. Her head doesn't come apart since she doesn't have a changeable face plate, so I'd have to somehow slip some plastic or painter's tape over her face, ears, and horns without leaving any gaps. It may just be too risky.
Really, I'm not super experienced with figure customization, so I'm trying to take it slow and do my research before I jump into anything. Just one step at a time. :)
