jzdavid (1 year ago) #29384481photo please :) that's ultra rare
i made some research and the reason yours is 1000 is because that's the Japanese Edition
the Worldwide edition is 3000
maaan what you have is a treasure!!

Wow, that's some serious sleuthing. Thank you!

Yeah, I kinda half wonder if the first dozen or so go to the various artists and production people. Now the question is if it's 3k or 4k total produced since the photo here shows 222 of 3000.

Tsunami3k (1 year ago) #28753394It's interesting to note that at one point the production limit for this was 1000 units; my placard reads "#5 of 1000".jzdavid (1 year ago) #29384481photo please :) that's ultra rare

since yours is much more "rarer" than these 3000 units version
it got me thinking..... why not start adding value to that like
$50,000? hahahaha

I'm pretty sure that 1000 units is no longer 1000

im just considering the fact that there are those that got broken or destroyed
and since japan keeps on experiencing earthquakes. the chances are high

another thing it's a 90s figure.
I bet some of these aren't taken good care of anymore.
owners might have died and have forgotten about this.

also yours is in the first 5 production units. the lower the number the better. that is something every collector can brag about. hahaha

This statue has the most elaborate packaging I've ever seen. The case/trunk it came in even has a metal placard on its top. I took some pictures of mine including the case. You can see them in the Figures picture section.

ashkanani (3 years ago) #3139011Hi everybody.
I need some help here, whats the difference between the 1999 release and 2011 spring release ?? Are both prepainted ? Numbered ? Have the same outer package ? Same base ?
I really appreciate if someone can help .
Thank you.

If you mean ITEM #118010, different manufacturer, materials, run, scale, and sculptor/sculpt. In fact, I don't know why the Max Factory versions are listed as variants; they use the same source illustration, but other than that, they're quite different. Will unlink them now.

brucelee (3 years ago) #3139359I believe the 2011 version was made of polystone instead of cold cast. Polystone is a terribly fragile material.
ITEM #118010 was released in 2013 and is PVC, unless you mean a different release of this particular figure? Also, cold cast figures are quite fragile as well.

If there is a 2011 release of this same figure, does anyone have any info about it? I can add it to this entry if that's the case.

I believe the 2011 version was made of polystone instead of cold cast. Polystone is a terribly fragile material. I recall getting the 1/4 scale Kanu polystone shipped from Japan to me, it arrived with hair area damaged. When I sold it years later to a fellow collector, it got further damaged during its domestic shipment.
