Any placticine would do. I just used Crayola Modeling Clay from Amazon. Originally, I was thinking about using Blue Tack but the one I had left was dried out, you can try that too if you have some (but I think this may be harder to remove, whereas plasticine has oily residue, doesn't dry out and easier to remove).

I used coloured plasticine to "glue" the helmet to the hand, as well as the leg and hand parts to the base. Just need a tiny bit or thin layer, it works wonderfully and no damage to the paint either. Here is my picture (you probably need red/orange colour for the leg part, the purple one works better for the hand):
