Maybe I'm lucky so far, but I have 6 shibuya scramble figs so far and all have turned out great with no detectable QC issues, and are easily some of the best of my collection. So I'm all for high quality scale figs. And I don't mind taking a flyer on new companies. But so far, none of the prisma wing figs have impressed me as being at the same level as SSF. They are at most Furyu quality, but ask SSF price. And I didn't realize they haven't released a single fig yet. I'm a big Kurumi fan but the recent PW offering has a cheap acrylic plate as part of the design. Likewise this PW Gwendolyn fig is a fantastic sculpt, especially the base and the grapes, but the face is a little off. As much as I like Gwendolyn figs I think I'll wait on this one a bit. In all honesty, I doubt it will bin but 39500 yen is TOO steep and I don't think pre-orders will sell out.

Ivanprimero3 hours ago#114032197You just used 2 examples where they do ask for 30k+... Small manufacturers have less resources, meaning production costs are more expensive for them in large scales and they need more immediate income to keep running. What you are trying to imply of new manufacturer=low price is far from reality: only chinese manufacturers with large scale of production capacity can allow themselves to be so aggressive in pricing, being Myethos an example of this.

Listen, you want more examples do it yourself, there's a search tool and common search terms are your friend. Educate yourself.

Also, Prime 1 is anything but a small manu. But they're entirely untested in mass manufacturing scales, that's why they made Prima Wing and where my concern stems from. Their factories for statues are completely incapable of handling mass manufacturing, so they are guaranteed contracting out to factories in China. But which ones? Nobody knows. And that matters, especially when it comes to the QC of 100k or more figures.

Prime 1 could afford to sell at a lower margin, build up customer confidence with consistent designs and quality production shipped out. Instead, they're Shibuya Scramble 2.0 and that's not behavior worth justifying or supporting.

Ivanprimero1 day ago#113998473I can understand you are disappointed by the expensive price but please don't say Alter or FuRyu wouldn't ask for 30k+ for this... The figure is gorgeous, it has detail and the base has material that would cover a whole new character figure. Being new manufacturer doesn't mean they have to be low priced, it's often the contrary to try and generate newbie income. Overpriced, yes, but that's something common nowadays with these kind of figures.

Lol

Those aren't from years ago, they're both recent preorders. And those are arguably overpriced too, but nothing close to Prisma Wing. After the fiasco of the first wave of figures released by Shibuya Scramble and the infamous hairdryer, why put up with the same toxic pricing tactics from a manu without a single released scale?

The body sculpt is amazing, but face is absolutely NO.

I can't get over how fast their prices increased without actually having a single Prisma Wing figure released.

Miku = 18K ITEM #1356484
Roxy = 24K ITEM #1449857
Chloe and Illya = 23K ITEM #1447723 ITEM #1390548

Then from that point forward everything is minimum 30K to 50K, even for figures without an impressive base. Without a single release to prove the quality control and final products are worthy of that price point. I understand they release other high quality figures in bigger scale but are these made in the same factory? Do we even have confirmation of that?

People are comparing them to Alter and it's likely Alter will start increasing prices as well. The ITEM #1603536 release seems to confirm that but it's still 7K less than this. I also don't think Alter is going to start charging 30K for a figure without any base or a small base like Prisma Wing is doing.

In any case this Gwendolyn have great shelf presence and is beautiful but the face not being 10/10 is kind of eh...
