PerfectChaos6 years ago#1900621I think they are pretty decent. From observation alone, it was obvious that WhyNot used these subs as the basis for their release, as a lot of the lines were the same. Grammar is correct and everything. Anyone watching it for the first time using these subs will be able to understand the story fine without having to deal with horrible English that a lot of Japanese people seem to have. XD
100% sales tax, huh. Is that only if it's through FEDEX or something? If so, then do you know why there's so much customs tax when it's FEDEX?
And what exactly is this "Limited Shop Pre-Order Bonus #3"? I ordered mine the day of launch, so I wouldn't get any pre-order bonuses, anyway, so I just went with CDJapan due to their Christmas double points promotion. I promise myself I would import it if and only if it has English subs, and I didn't hear about it having subs until launch day. I guess I should have did some research beforehand.

I remember I read it somewhere in FedEx's site, but I don't remember the detail. As long as FedEx is going to charge me custom tax, I won't choose FedEx. And I did use it once, I did got taxed.

Well, not all shops participate in the 3 Pre-Order Bonuses event. Take CDJapan (NeoWing) for example, they participate, but they don't offer #3. AmiAmi on the other hand, offers all 3 bonuses. These information are all written in Movie Steins;Gate's official site.

PerfectChaos6 years ago#1901583The subs aren't amazing, and WhyNot did improved on some stuff, IMO (but even that is subjective), but the subs on the disc are definitely not bad, to say the least. Are you thinking about ordering it or something?
I ordered it when I first heard it had subs, which was months ago. Though for some reason I wasn't too concerned about the quality of the subtitles until recently. I guess it doesn't really matter though, because if I don't like the subs on the disk I can just watch WhyNot's edit and have the actual blu-ray for collection purposes.

blucheze526 years ago#1900808That's good to hear. WhyNot said in their post that the subs on the disk were 'mediocre' so I was kinda worried. BloodyEarth6 years ago#18921751 thing I hate about FedEx is that...in Canada, FedEx is 100% custom tax.
Oh, it's a surprise so many people order at CDJapan, not saying it's bad. CDJapan doesn't offer Limited Shop Pre-Order Bonus #3, but damn mousepad, way better than AmiAmi's telephone card. If CDJapan included that bonus, I'd definitely choose there.
