Lazuli Sailor Muteki
I really wish the original size version came with a head with no helmet. I prefer Masamune without helmet. :/

Shizuya (3 years ago) #2380252Considering to maybe get him after all now... Could make some pics?

I would take some pics, but my camera is terrible at capturing tiny details, and this guy is SMALL. The biggest difference I noticed was the chin strap is an actual raised sculpt line on his face instead of trying to get away with a one-swipe blue line. He's definitely awesome, and if you like the bigger version, the smaller version is worth getting if you're a completionist, or if you missed the bigger version. Put it this way: I get upset at small things on figures that most people would brush off, and I'm really happy with him. I'm looking forward to Mitsunari a lot more now.

The-Hurricane (3 years ago) #2380159Okay, I got him and....holy hell is this guy small! I'm going to do a little mini review here in case I can help tip the scales for someone.
First thing to address: His face. He's actually so much more nicely made than the promotional pictures, I cannot believe it. There is no trace of the haphazard paint apps or the one-stroke see through blue line that passed for a chin strap. So, that aspect was definitely good. The biggest pro of this figure has to be the option for his helmetless head. He feels much more expressive that way.
The biggest con? Obviously a lot of detail was lost scaling an already tiny figure literally down into pocket size (the box itself feels like you're carrying a slightly large cigarette package). Besides the option of his helmet being removed, nothing feels new or fresh. The joints are a little different I believe, but nothing ~magical~.
Honestly? I'm glad I own him, I love Sengoku Basara merch, but I also feel rather puzzled (I'm curious if anyone else feels this way owning him. XD) at owning him too. He feels rather cute but superfluous. He's a little strange to fit in your collection with his size though.

lazymez (4 years ago) #2216800I'm still placing my hopes on sales bin, seeing how most of previous SB revoltechs were thrown in there, but now I've grown really curious if they've improved joints and stuff for his new sculpt. Plus, I didn't notice helmetless head earlier.
I've joked around how I could myself learn to sculpt my own Basara scales to satisfactory before companies bother with them. Maybe it's time to buy some materials at last... ;;

I bit the bullet and just got him off of HLJ. Eh, can't hurt at this point, and I'm super curious about the jointing system (I'll report back if no one else gets theirs first and comments), plus seeing him next to regular Revoltech Masamune will be interesting, if I trust yanking Regular Masamune out of his packaging.

I for one would love to see you do some scale Sengoku Basara figures! I'm a fanatic for these characters, I would probably commission you. I'm actually working on a Revoltech Kojuurou and Sasuke since I feel Masamune and Yukimura were cheated out of their partners in the last release! I'm also toying with making a Yoshitsugu one. :3 I know someone who sits cross-legged all the time seems to defeat the purpose of an action figure, but he's always been one of my favourite characters and it will be fun designing his orbs and palanquin. ;)
