Funny I also found the original cast unopened on Y!J and won the bid today T_T costed me an arm and a leg but I think compared to the $600 and $800 it was apparently listed on other occasions, I got it for a good deal. I don’t know if I want to get it professionally painted whenever I get it (won’t be until shipping restrictions are lifted) or keep it unpainted because it’s sealed oof I have the e version not yet painted which I bought thinking I’d never run into the original cast, too.

Taralen1 month ago#81283531Lol she is cast really well. You can tell Bubba put a lot of heart into each piece!
Thanks for the advice! :)
By the way, where did you get the gems to make yours? They look very close to the original figure. I would like to do the same with mine.

Gems were selected by her owner, from what I know, she hunted art&crafts stores as well as textile stores (not sure they are called this way, it's a place where they sell various fabrics and accesories for hand-made clothes and linen.

We were initially looking to find some on Ali but the size was wrong.

Also, a tip on how to glue these: clear double sided tape cut into tiny pieces, attach a piece to the gem, them attach to the base using wax pencil that is used in nail art to move tiny beads and such.

ponnie1 month ago#81235777Congrats on getting the best garage kit ever made. I mean it, original Tutu is just so good everything else feels icky afterwards, even the really good ones. Check out the careful seamline placement, most of them are hidden when assembled, how cool is that!~
P.S. I'd recommend sligtly buffing away the shine from the parts with soft 1000 grit sanding sponge. Resin too smooth has issues with paint sticking properly (been there with exact same Tutu).

Taralen2 months ago#81111299I recieved her today. The casting on the official kit is simply divine... very smooth and with minimal seams.
I don't want to open the clear parts until I work on her. Until then though wow! Just a beautiful figure even unassembled.

Bearcat2 months ago#80816031Ooh congrats! I hope you didn't have to sell your first born for it.
Please do share pics once you paint it :)
And I think there were a bunch of people looking to but the pre-printed recast lower down the comments.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited. I've actually paid more for kits before, so I'm not too bothered by the price I paid.
I will definitely share photos once I've painted her. I have other projects I need to finish first, but I will definitely put a ton of love and care into this one. She is a holy grail kit for me. . .And I do think she is a masterpiece sculpt by BUBBA. My biggest issue would be just finding the gems to put on the base. Hopefully those won't be too difficult to find. >.<
