Why do we Berserk fans have to suffer to own a figure of our fav characters? Would it kill some of these companies that have the licence to produce a 1/6 or 1/8 that's high quality but at a decent price? I mean come on if your a Berserk fan and you want figures then you'll have to start selling stuff or selling organs! NOT EVERYBODY IS A JAPANESE SALARYMAN!!! If you think about it's not gonna kill them in fact they'd make a pile of money catering to the normal market but No if you want a good Berserk figure just sell your car!

silentwinter91 (2 months ago) #29130644Coming back to this after quite a while, anybdy gt info maybe these production runs are done by inhse painters. Thats why they are so expensive.

Paint is actually one of the biggest cost points in terms of production. It's the most intensive, time consuming, and hardest aspect to be completed on the production line. If the paint is not up to par, it can cause delays.

As to why the price is what it is for this Femto. While I cannot breakdown every single point, I suspect that these are factors:

- Limitation

Lower production number = higher production cost

This is why PVC figures are so cheap in comparison, because they are produced in thousands which reduces the production cost. On the opposite spectrum, when you start producing pieces in low numbers like 300, the cost will be higher.

- Licensing

Not sure how expensive Berserk's licensing is, but it is potentially a huge factor.

- Paint

Explained previously. Demanding paint jobs require a higher price. It's much more work for a factory to do complete a job that requires... a lot of work. Painting a more basic figure won't be as taxing nor unforgiving, especially when a company is trying to stay exactly to the prototype.

They're expensive because of the limited production run. They can basically jack up prices because 300 people will surely buy this anyway, same with Art of War's Berserk figures. Painting prices can only go so far in justifying insane prices (look at Hot Toys and their insane paint application, and those don't even come close to this price range). It's just sad that Berserk attracts these kinds of manufacturers who put out insane price tags like this one, Art of War, Gecco, Threezero, heck even the figmas cost a fortune.

So the numbers on Guts for P1 are ridiculous (35.43" H (899.92mm) x 28.34" W (719.84mm) x 19.68" L (499.87mm)). That probably puts their Femto at around 36" in height or more. Looks like I may have to build an extra room just for my Berserk figures :D I did not realize there were so many on MFC interested in statues of that size. That is what these are, statues not figures.

Not complaining, really did not think there was so much interest statues/figures of this size. The value for that Guts is pretty damn amazing too if it look like the prototype. $1K for this Guts is practically theft. Good times to be in this hobby :)
