Bought this figure from an eBay seller to go with my Good Smile 1/10th Ultimate Madoka statue. There are so few Akuma Homura scale figures (only about 3 large scale fixed pose figures of her) and this prize figure was the most economical version on the market (she typically goes for $60 - $100 USD). I didn't really overpay for her, but I did end up paying a bit more than I had hoped to pay. She pops up for cheaper on a few Japanese resale sites, but her box is quite large so the shipping can add up.

Lottery prize figures can be a bit hit or miss with the quality and I was worried that the figure would look a little too flat given that it's a prize next to the more deluxe Ultimate Madoka statue, but I'm pleasantly surprised by this Banpresto Homura.

The pose is quite pretty and even though the base is moderately plain, because of the peg she's perched on, I think the base is nice for the figure. It definitely seems like she'll hold her shape in the long run thanks to the support beams unlike the first Stronger Devil Homura figure which is known for leaning.

I was worried that the wings would look very flat, but each feather has a bit of a purple sheen which helps the wings stand out. I also appreciate how her dress fans out around her. I do like the fact she has a small scale corrupted soul gem in her hand although it's super tiny but it gives the figure more character. The only thing I'm not really a huge fan of is the dots under her dress. They feel a little too large and uniform. They kind of look like polka dots. I own the Devil Homura Nendoroid and I like how the dots are different sizes and the underskirt has different purple tones to it. That gives it more depth. On this Banpresto figure the dots look kind of clunky. Wouldn't be terrible if I hadn't seen it done better elsewhere.

Overall, despite the somewhat plain detail work on her because of the lottery prize nature, she is still quite a nice figure. She pairs fairly well with the Ultimate Madoka figure even though the scale for this one is a bit bigger. It's too bad Good Smile didn't make a Devil Homura scale figure, but this figure stands out and looks quite nice in my collection.

carbatonic (2 years ago) #7506006I'm torn on this one. I like the pose and face a lot better than Aniplex, but it's prize figure quality and I think the base is....not the best. I don't mind paying (a lot) more for something I like more, but I don't know which one I like more! Banpresto's quality is actually quite nice.

Mine arrived yesterday and she's really beautiful.
Like usual she had these plastic things covering her and unfortunately the one on her dress left these ugly glue marks D:
I don't know how to remove them D:
