Been seeing alot of these with the gold painted areas bleeding into the skin. Both on the legs and the whole chest area. For the people who own her is this just something that happens over time or maybe sunlight and heat causes it? I want to get her but not if they all eventually bleed.

Seiidaishougun4 years ago#5476510Just found her on Mandarake for just 2000 Yen. Here you go:
What an awesome outfit, wasted on a crappy girl. A shame, really.
No, that's not expected from a prize figure at all.
I don't have a single prize figure which has a colour smear on her stomach.
I'd say the culprit for that is the previous owner, who knows what he did with her.
If it doesn't go away with a wet cloth, you could perhaps try nitro paint thinner, but be careful the paint doesn't come off.

Hi! Thanks for the answer.
Wow, It's been 6 months since I wrote that, I had totally forgotten about it x)

I know, over the years I have bought prize figures from Mandarake more times than I can count. It has never happened before. That's why my first thought was that it was either a mistake by the previous owner or some kind of a manufacturing defect.

It's important to point out at this time that the color smear was from a version I got for 2000 Yen - Just like the link you just provided. So the lower price for a large kuji figure like this (which usually goes for around 6k-10k) might be because of these defects.

I was happy to get this figure for 2k. Honestly, it'd be extra lucky if there wasn't a smear, but after 6 months I'm not super bummed about it :)

Again, thanks for the answer ^^

Hello everyone; I have a question~ ^^

I finally got her at a super deal from Mandarake. But as expected of a price like that, she came with a slight color smear on her stomach&chest area. I don't understand much from painting figures; so I'm not sure if it's glue or paint or damage or something else entirely. It also could have been just faded color as mentioned below.

Anyway; it's not annoying to me at all, since I've been wanting to buy this since it was first announced.
But if there's something I can do about it, I'd like to learn.

I know I'm not supposed to use anything to damage the original color, or else I'd have to repain. Maybe I could try cleaning softly with a q-tip?

I've been looking for a guide with pictures but so far couldn't find something that'd help me exactly :/

Do you think I should open a thread about this in the forums or somewhere else? Any recommendations?

I love love love love her. She's SO heavy though! I have her displayed on a little glass shelf and am always scared she might fall over. Such a beautiful figure though!

BikiniSntchMnstr6 years ago#2290202Just out of curiosity, is there an issue with paint fading on this particular figure? Every time this one goes up preowned on AmiAmi, it always has a comment that the paint has faded somewhere on the figure. Just wondering if this is common with this one or it just so happens EVERY one of these they put up has the exact same problem.

Got mine from mandarake some time back but still haven't taken it out of the box. The color has not faded on mine, but have also kept it in a shipping box in storage since recieved (just saw it last week). (;_;) Please keep in mind that acrylic / plexiglass is 98-99% UV ray resistant where most glass doesn't protect at all (unless new house windows with tint or gas between dual panes etc.) I am not sure of the fading affects of LED lighting vs incandescent vs fluorescent. I have dimmed down LED lighting personally as fluorescent hurts...

Also, as another side note, the box for this figure is huge and therefore has to be sent via EMS or DHL only. I cannot remember if I ordered anything with it, but expect to spend 3500 yen to the USA for it.
