surenintendo (29 days ago) #46386552I think it looks a little above average :) Her cleavage is pretty deep w/o noticeable weld lines, and there aren't any ugly seams/missing details. I do agree her head is like 25% larger than it should be compared to the rest of her body and her face expression is a bit muted.

Well said. It's not a super quality figure and it was a little bit foolish to expect a masterpiece. But for what it's worth, she more than decent and certainly looks nice overall on a shelf. Could the skin tone have been better, yes, but many modern figures still lack in that department. As for the head size, it feels right to me when I compare it to her character design. But I do agree her legs look a little bit small and it could play a part in that perception. On the positive side, her face looks like Yui. Can't say the same about the Bunny version and the older Kotobukiya one (which is quite a disappointment in real life). This is the reason why I settled on this one as a compromise. No regret. ;-)

Free_Phi (1 month ago) #45573528Opened her up today. Super average. The kimono design and color is very nice, but the smile is awkward and the proportions are terrible: Huge head; undersized, skinny legs. The pose really has no feminine allure, but is actually oddly stiff. The skin-tone shading is expectedly lackluster, which is the norm nowadays.
Another disappointment...

Code-04 (1 month ago) #46139235It's just one guy's opinion. There are user photos that you can check for yourself. She looked great and everyone seems to think she's really well done. I get her tomorrow or the day after and am pretty excited myself.

Yeah I've really grown on the figure. I saw the photos and wow she does look good! She's going to be one of my first when I move next month.

Mew2 (1 month ago) #45574993Ouch. I saw this and loved the kimono and kinda allure of it. Sad to hear it's average. Any photos of it? I kinda feel like not ordering it now...

Another Yui has joined my collection. This time it is Yuigahama Yui, aka best girl! TBH, all of the figures of Yui that have been released so far just don't seem to fit her, this one included. I mean, they are all outfits she has worn at some point, but I just can't describe it, it just doesn't feel "Yui." That being said, I do feel this one nailed her face and hair. That part is definitely her. She sits on an optional fluffy base, which is quite large. And being a 1/6th, even though she is in a sitting pose, she is a bit of a space hog. I feel all of her details from the sculpt to the paint has been done excellently. She doesn't give off the vibe that she's trying to be overtly sexy (though she is showing quite a bit of skin), but rather that she's just returned home from a lovely festival where she played around to her hearts content, so she is a bit disheveled, a bit exhausted, and is taking a well deserved rest. All this while making you stand at attention, if you get my drift. Really, the only minor complaint I have with her is that I feel Souyokusha was a bit heavy handed and inconsistent on the shading of her kimono. This is really apparent if you look at where her sleeve joins with her shoulder. The sleeve has much darker shading than the main body of the kimono. Still, at a normal viewing distance, she looks great and I love her. I'm glad NY had her on sale, convincing me to bring this cutie home!
