I also have sideshow figures, personally found my final products beautifully match the prototype pictures. With anime PVC figures as well, 95% of the time the products I buy meet my expectations set by the prototype.
Funny that you mention Sideshow, they actually pull their prototype photos from their website and replace them with the actual statue when they are close to shipping out the product.
And Sideshow always comes to my mind when I think about products that came out way different than the prototype, e.g. Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice Gal Gadot Wonder Woman Premium Format, it looked so great on the prototype photos and when I received it, I was so shocked by the downgrade.
Prime 1's biggest flaw is that they don't update the product photos with actual production piece photos. Overall I have to say that I was mostly satisfied with Prime 1's deviations from the prototype, even though there are also some strong offenders like Ciri.
This Ivy is beyond any doubt the best statue released of this character so far and I'm very glad to own her.

I have been collecting for over 20 years and have rarely seen a product similar to the proto.
Don't take it as an offense but I have to listen to the same people complaining that the end product isn't like the proto with every new release. Of course not. What did you expect ?
Again no offenses :) Please stop always wanting to compare to the prototype which I recall is painted by PROFESSIONAL artist ... and no photo will be able to capture exactly the same as the product in real. There are hundreds of parameters that come into play: light, focus, angle etc ... I have it in front of me and I can CONFIRM this is pure killer and there is no downgrade. ABSOLUTELY NO DOWNGRADE. All the people who have it are unanimous: the best Poison Ivy collectible.
First of all, chill. Don't get your undies in a wad. I just asked a question.

Your pictures look like they were taken with a 90s cell phone and prison lighting, so maybe they're doing the figure a disservice. I'll wait for other users to put more pictures up.

Wow those latest photos from Seb057 don't look anything like the prototype. Are these the finished product? I don't know how to @ a user in MFC :)

She's out, anyone received her yet? Mine won't arrive until late November - mid December :(
The release date here is incorrect. If you look at the prime1 official shop where you can still PREORDER her, it says ">Estimated Arrival: Feb. 2020 - May. 2020". But even when she was first announced the date was set to Dec 2019, so I'm not sure where the date here on MFC originates from. Anyway, Sideshow still has the estimated arrival at December 2019 but I think you can trust the one given on prime1 more right now, seeing how the month has already passed by halfway. So still some more waiting before we can admire her irl~

The whole Hush-line looks amazing, it's hard for me to justify 1k+€ for each figure, especially since I have to get at least 3-4, since all my other DC statues are 1/4 Sideshow Premium Formats, which means they can't be displayed together.
Another issue is the size, 1/4 can fit into my BESTA setup 90% of the time, 1/3 doesn't fit, so I would need to build another display case, which is a lot of work.
But I think this line is really worth it, no other Prime 1 line really convinced me to switch from 1/4 PFs to 1/3 MM.
It's kinda sad that Sideshow never commited as many resources as Prime 1 to any of their lines, they only release 1-2 figures that go really well together (Dark Knight + Joker for example, I would really want a Tom Hardy Bane/Anne Hathaway Catwoman in 1/4)....

I would still be annoyed at the production changes. The skin tone was made very pale, paler than the prototype 2 years ago and completely different from the marketing shots. The hair is absent the darker shading as well.
Those changes are cost cutting, because they're really simple to add. It would require a simple ink wash. You don't need a professional painter for that. Prime 1 just decided not to bother. Fortunately it's a really simple fix that a novice could do, guess the added labor cost and drying time is why it was cut.
For that cost though I'd expect better. They clearly used washes well on Alita's base and other figures before. Go figure.
