Wonderful Hobby Selection more like Wonderful Natural Selection as they drain the wallets and lives of figure collectors and force them to live on sunlight in order to scrounge up enough money to save up for their favorite characters in figure form

The "Wonderful hobby selection"-ness of this is nothing compared to the WHS Saber Alter. I wonder why.

Oliver (2 months ago) #40416753Update: Goodsmile told me they would send me an upper body and part D. Part D I think is the left antenna/bunny ear. I showed them how bad mine is and they asked which side it was so I'm pretty sure that's it. They asked for my address and told me they would ship my replacements as soon as possible. I will make an article here on MFC when I get the replacement parts so people can compare, see if the new parts fix the problem and I'll be able to come to a conclusion after that. Stay tuned!Nice! Looking foward to it!

For me, Goodsmile didn't specify the parts they would send me, just that they'll send a "replacement". Hmm.... I'll update with what I got when I actually get the package.

Also, Iowa got delayed from this month until November. That's a whole 2 months. Here's hoping Iowa doesn't have such a bad QC issue.

Hansuke (2 months ago) #40115799If you do get the replacements, it would be nice to see the article anyway. Perhaps a before and after comparison between the defective parts and the replacements.

I might do it this weekend as soon as I'm available, by then Goodsmile should have responded. If I do get a replacement it'd have to be the entire figure. If you read my article when I'll make it you'll see what I'm talking about.

Oliver (2 months ago) #40111691So far it looks like they're at least taking the case seriously, which is good because I simply can't afford to buy a replacement and in my honest opinion I deserve better.
The only parts of my figure that are fine are the legs and the canons on her back. Everything else has something wrong with it. Most of the defects are paint related, but some are due to bad construction. Her left arm has a noticeable gap where it connects to the body and her "bunny ears" don't even fit in the sluts on her head. There are a few finishing mistakes as well such as little bumps and bubbles on the surface of the figure. Those are just a few things I can think off the top of my head, but there's a lot more.
My friend suggested I write an article on here to show what I got and describe my experience. I'll wait to see what Goodsmile does to "maybe" help me and if they ignore my request then I'll post an article here and post on reddit as well. If Goodsmile doesn't want to help me I'll at least help others and tell them to watch out.

Hansuke (2 months ago) #40105426Sad to hear that it has so many defects. Also, if you email Goodsmile directly at support@goodsmile.info I think you can send them as many pictures as you can. Unless there is something on their end that disables their ability to receive more than 3 picture attachments at once.
I hope they will approve your replacement, but since they followed up asking you for proof of purchase, it looks like you'll be able to get a replacement hopefully.
Are there any defects on the legs of your figure? Mine has defects on the body and head only it seems. Just curious to see where the QC is lacking in regards to this figure. Definitely not worthy of the "Wonderful Hobby Selection" title.

Oliver (2 months ago) #40104647Goodsmile replied to me recently asking for proof of purchase and other information so they can solve my problem. We'll see what they decide to do, but I don't expect much. After writing my previous comment I took the time to really look at her and I found about 16 defects all over the figure. I can deal with a few minor things, but what I got is simply outrageous especially since they delayed the production 3 times in order not to rush the production "at the cost of lower quality". Words cannot explain how frustrated I am.Sad to hear that it has so many defects. Hansuke (2 months ago) #40104034You are not alone my friend. Mine has small defects too. There's a big piece of blue paint chipped off the hem of the skirt and there are paint transfer marks on the hair as well. It looks like the head has been scuffed along a rough surface. Gonna shoot off an email to see if I can get a replacement.
I feel like the QC has dropped as of late as the last Wonderful Hobby Selection figure (Takao) I got also had a few defects.
