She doesn't seem to get a lot of love on here >.> I personally love her a lot *.* She's a Nekomata, so she obviously looks perfectly demonic/scary. I think Alter did an amazing job on the eyes <3 All this shading and the highlights make them look pretty realistic and give off the perfect psycho cat vibe ^^ Considering Alter's latest pricing, I don't even think she's over-the-top expensive, she does have a light-up function overall too. 13.780 on NY is pretty much what I'm used to with any figure company these days ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Kiz-xo (1 month ago) #33060284If noones buying it, they're going to assume the character isnt popular or well loved and they're going to stop making it all together. thats why extremely popular characters dont have figures these days.
Whose going to risk spending all that money on material and labour if it wont sell?
Also, no company is cheaper, or have you not noticed Kotobukiya and Megahouses sudden price increase too?

if you read my comment, I stated that figures of greater size and detail were cheaper. Even from ALTER themselves.

Figure companies have been getting greedier across the board as the market expands, this is a given. I'm saying this figure was increased in price for no reason.

kemando (1 month ago) #33058894Oh? Then explain to me why so many other figures releasing in a similar timespan from different companies are all cheaper. Hell, even some of Alter's OWN figures are cheaper.
Not only are they cheaper, they're just as well made (if not better), MORE detailed and BIGGER (some significantly) thus using MORE MATERIALS, the reason you're citing as a cause for these price increases.
Examples:
- Orchid Seed's Sorceress from Dragon's Crown ITEM #165760
- Max Factory's Lala Wedding Ver. from To Love-Ru ITEM #549355
- GSC's Shiro from No game No Life ITEM #591632
- Alter's Berserker/Mysterious Heroine from Fate ITEM #604011
- FunnyKnight's Semiramis from Fate ITEM #549107
I could go on. The issue clearly wasn't materials, detail or quality.
No; they're merely preying on people who need to finish their Muramasa collection at this point. Thinking "heh, hike up the price 2-3k yen, those suckers will pay it anyway".
Well not this guy.
And quality is not enough to justify a 15k price tag. I own a LOT of figures, not as much as some, but more than most. You haven't been in the game very long, but it's easy for me to see over the years that these companies are clearly increasing prices for reasons more dubious than material costs or licensing fees. (but those are part of it absolutely, maybe like 15-20% of cost increase).
Cost is justifiable through quality, detail, size, and availability. If the figure is of high quality, rare/exclusive, highly detailed, and large in size, then a higher price makes sense.
People not buying these figures for absurd prices won't make the companies stop producing them, they'll just go "shit, nobody's buying this maybe we should lower the price".

Kiz-xo (1 month ago) #32530694Idk man, everyone on this site just bitches n complains. and lets face it, alter wont just lower the prices cause noone buys it. the prices arnt raised for 'no reason'. they are raised because the materials to make these figures have gone up, thus it cost more to produce, and for the quality they are producing, 15k is good.
So before you say "i wont buy it, im not supporting this". have a think about it, if you all stop supporting, you'll just receive shit quality figures, but hey at least its in your price range right? Noone will get a good quality figure of their fav character but at least its affordable
