oc3xn (4 months ago) #30491499Is anyone having any problems with paint transfer for her hair? I had some pretty massive damage on Cocoa’s arms from some paint transfer from me moving her hair around. It’s pretty noticeable as well, and I’m not sure how to remove it (my last experience with trying to remove paint transfers ended in me requesting for replacement parts).
It seems to be a universal problem due to how her hair flows around her arm parts, too bad because she's great otherwise (I can see several mails being sent towards Goodsmile requesting a ton of replacement parts due to this design flaw). Also not really sure why the stand pegs are so long now if the hole is the same as ever, maybe so they can use the same peg for all their figures or something (the recent Kirby needs this longer peg, but this one doesn't).

It's actually not as big of an issue if you know how to remove this kind of transfer which is actually really easy if you know what you're doing. I myself used a marker (non permanent for obvious reasons, one of those small ones kids use at school should do) over the transfer then immediately remove it with a wet piece of cloth, repeat the process until the transfer is completely gone. Alternatively just use water + hand soap to clean it off, but the marker method is quicker based off my experience. However be sure to test that the marker actually comes off when you wipe it with the wet cloth on some non-visible area or you could make matters worse.

This is the arm part after doing what I said above, excuse the bad quality, I don't have anything better atm but as you can see there are no orange marks on it and anyone that has gotten her should know how huge the transfers are even right out of the box. Note that this will only remove the orange on the arm parts, I haven't tested if it works on the white marks that are left on the tips of her hair, something tells me it won't, but that's not really noticeable.

Edit: I used a blue one of these markers in case anyone wonders about the specifics, just had that one lying around and it worked, not sure what else does:
