enjoime_CB (2 months ago) #34770546Dang! That kinda sucks as expected from Alter and Amiami! :( Usually get the "file a claim" thing. I personally had to go through that and it definitely wasn't worth the hassle of months for a replacement. I should've just took the loss and went on with my way. Yeah i've heard GSC customer support is god tier even with oversea customers. Especially with their item ITEM #396841 as many replacements were sent out! I was happy to hear that everyone was getting replacements. Well at least she didn't have any other damaged parts and not as easily visible! I think i'm still going to order her! She is still one of my favorites in the series and this version of her is too cute to pass up! :D
Anzu is definitely an amazing figure, asides from the broken wing, she has little to no flaw. I don’t regret ordering her. Sure, I felt crappy when I saw the broken wing, but I managed to glue it back the best I can. The wing that broke actually can’t even be seen when displayed. Regardless, it was still broken. After the fix, I feel much better about the situation, and it is not worth to continue to stress about it. In figure collecting, things happens, and a broken figure is going to be inevitable. I am just going to enjoy her for what she is.

View spoilerHide spoilerSo, Amiami and Alter got back to me. As expected, Alter said they do not support overseas and that I should contact the store. That being said, I do not know why they would have options to put countries/continents of where I live if they only support customers from Japan.
This is Alter's response:
"We are not provide direct support for a product distributed overseas.
Please consult to the shop."
Then there is Amiami, they basically told me to file an insurance claim. That was also what I expected. Any damages from Amiami, they would just tell you to file an insurance claim because they said they would not shipped any damaged products and that the item most likely broke during shipment. That's fair enough, but the wing that Anzu broke cannot be seen from the outside packaging, and the broken piece does not jiggle around in the box because there were plastic protectors in the back of the figure to prevent it from tossing around. Basically, if I want some compensation, I would have to go through a lengthy insurance claim. Insurance claim with packages can take anywhere from months, to a year. Say, around 4+ months. I also read about other users who received damaged products or packages from Amiami, and they received the same response as me, where they should file an insurance claim. It is simply not worth the headache and hassle. I guess, I will have to stick with my broken wing, at least I glued it back the best I can and it is almost seamless. I am sure, Amiami might have done something and contacted Alter or exchange the product if it was a manufacture type of defect, but I do not know how true that is.
It is pretty much the result I expect from buying any product from Alter. This is why I feel a bit uneasy if Alter releases a figure with delicate parts.
I always feel safe buying from GSC (Good Smile Company), or any companies under GSC because their customer service is GOLD. Any damages or noticeable flaws, they would simply ask for images and proof of purchase, and they will send you a replacement right away. Any other companies I buy from, I will hold my breath until the figure arrives in one piece and hope that nothing goes wrong.
