TomTheCat (13 days ago) #38470008Amiami pre-owned A-/B 35980 Yen: www.amiami.com/...Interesting. This is not the most ridiculous run-up in price post-release, but it's also not a small one. That's nearly 50% over MSRP for an opened figure.

Between this, AnimeNPC getting shafted, and N-Y charging 50K for NIB figures, I'm starting to think BINDing genuinely mispredicted demand and under-produced here. This isn't a figure I would have expected to actually be collectable in the "limited quantity" sense.

So I have to say that while I originally wasn't sold on the mirror base, I've had a change of opinion.

The damned thing is ridiculously large relative to the figure, and it doesn't really seem necessary to have a mirror when the pose is leaning back to begin with. But after trying something new, it finally struck me that I was missing the point: the mirror base isn't there to reflect the image of the figure, it's there to reflect overhead light on to the figure; to light it from below. The high gloss coating on her lady bits is a lot more apparent once you put some light on it.

Though the flip side is that since it's plastic, it's really fragile: it scratches easily and because it's not polished I've already had paint from her finger tips rub off.

Wow, a lot of new comments since my last visit. Thanks to VIRGE for the thorough review of this figure. Even with a few negatives, this figure is still a good one. I am happy to have bought this figure at the retail price after seeing it is now being list at 40,000 yen.

terumi56 (29 days ago) #37726585They did basically take your money. If you haven't received shipping info by now i would email them and dispute those charges asap.

Thankfully my order arrived a few days ago. Sorry to know about the crappy experience you had with your pre-order.

rusty5000 (27 days ago) #37824190Yea it is the arm. The thing that gets me is that they use EMS to send all international parcels and EMS parcels are insured for up to 20,000 yen free of charge should the contents arrive broken. This would at least cover a large portion of the cost since this figure was damn expensive. Was it a clean break at the peg? Or somewhere else? At least in my case, with the clean break at the peg, I can confirm that it was a piece of cake to glue the arm back on. So I'm not sure it would be worth your time to file a claim if it's indeed an easy fix.

broken figures and cancelled pre-orders etc.... i have a feeling this figure has some sort of evil karma on it.

Wait till you have to file the paperwork to do the insurance claim.
I'm still working on one case for ~$300 figure from 1.5 months ago and no progress so far.

In other news, Moeyo has published their official photos of the figure.

Part 1 (Clothing On): www.moeyo.com/a...
Part 2 (Casting Off): www.moeyo.com/a...

The brilliant thing about this is that they took roughly the same photos as their prototype preview from last year, so it's relatively easy to compare the two figures.

Overall nothing seems massively different between the two at first glance. Moeyo's photos have the same oranger skin tone to them that other photos do, so this seems to be a constant. However their hair photos are still as silver as before, whereas other photos come off as blue. So that may be a lighting thing, or perhaps photography being harder on this figure. Either way, looking at the figure in person I do feel like the hair is bluer.

The face is largely the same. The teeth are perhaps a bit less pronounces, and the eyes are larger. The breasts also look like they were lifted a bit. And perhaps this is because of the accommodations for casting off, but the corset cups aren't quite as shiny here.

The pose itself also seems a bit different? I don't want to say anything definitive here because I feel like the lighting differences may be throwing me off. But I feel like she's leaning back slightly farther to make certain bits a little more obvious...

rusty5000 (27 days ago) #37819890I got mine straight from Native and it came broken. I have contacted them about it and so far the only answer I have received is to provide pictures twice. Honestly unless they offer some kind of solution, I intend speak to my bank about reversing the transaction.Aww phooey. What was broken? The right arm as well?
