tugasi (4 months ago) #26158520Flawless doesn't exactly mean having paint issues, even if it's a minor one. And I'm just trying to justify everything for the price. I'm glad you liked yours.
Yeah, I get where you are coming from, I had the same feeling about Kotori (ITEM #287832) and she was even more expensive (received her with one horn broken and the metal thingie on the base was too long and had to cut it). For the simplicity of the figure yes, she is a little on the "over priced" side.

IceMan45 (4 months ago) #26158252I have to disagree, mine is flawless (aside from some minor paint issues, like a little blue where it should be, but show me a figure without something like this, hint: you can't). Maybe you just got unlucky with the one you got, they are hand painted after all, mistakes can happen, and I doubt that QC would discard a $100 figure because of a few paint bumps.
As for the base, yes it is true that it's simple but it works well with dioramas and home made action sets.
All in all, I give her a 9/10.

tugasi (4 months ago) #25590493I agree. Mine arrived just now, with my Sinon and Leafa re-runs from Kotobukiya.
She got a clump of paint on her bangs which can already be seen from the window, and what a very plain base she has. Makes you really regret it when Sinon and Leafa's bases are great (in comparison) and prices are cheaper.

SumeriNyan (4 months ago) #25550602I'm a bit disappointed in her quality. The paint is a bit too matte and clumps a little bit in the creases of her shirt. The lack of vibrancy compared to the prototype is the main issue, though. Her shirt and leggings are supposed to be bright eye catching colors, but are just dull.
There's a lot of little telltale signs that the mold wasn't finished properly. Mainly inconsistencies in the smoothness of rounded parts and little indentations from bits of the mold not being smoothed down.
I was already regretting paying so much for a 1/8 scale when Kotobukiya announced theirs after I had already pre-ordered this one. This figure is closer to a prize figure in quality than it is to a proper scale figure. It should have cost less than 9k Yen based on it's quality.
