The quality of this figure is outstanding, considering it originally went for $15-$20?? Like what?? Her face is so clean it kills me. Saw her on display at Katsu this past weekend and she looked so much better compared to the other noodle stoppers.

RabbitSans (9 months ago) #30533906Oh, cool. Good that they'll help you out. It's my first prize figure and I'm very pleased with the quality compared to ones I've seen from other companies. I'm looking forward to ITEM #581611 even more now.

I have some other FuRyu stuff, so I have more to compare to XD. Tbh, I was expecting a little more out of it, especially on my first 'fail' that I got. If you like it for what it is, then that's all good. I have some FuRyu prize figures that I rate highly in my collection, so I kind of expected a bit more out of FuRyu, but their recent stuff seems more comparable to other prize companies.

Prize figures are rather hit and miss, so I don't tend to preorder them XD.

tharglet (9 months ago) #30503446I have since had a replacement due to the breakage, it is better, but yeah, the belt is of a design that is problematic to paint XD. The finish has been done properly on the replacement, so I'm happy about that.

RabbitSans (9 months ago) #30490470Mine turned out incredibly well and didn't have any of the issues that your describing. I guess it's luck of the QC draw. The only quibble I could have is that the paint around the belt could be a bit cleaner but it's only noticeable up close.

tharglet (10 months ago) #29904143Can't say I'm massively happy with this figure. Bunch of paint flaws, overly fragile part, and the finish isn't properly done (at least on mine).
There are a fair amount of noticeable paint flaws - it'd be unrealistic to expect it to be perfect, but the paint is lazy in places.
Also one of her "hair chopsticks" was already partly hanging off when I got her out of the box - touching it gently made it fall off :/. They're pretty fragile, so I'd class this very much as a display piece instead of a functional piece (though I should imagine most people will buy her for display).
I've uploaded a pic of her back to show the splotchy finish. Not sure how they managed that. Another flaw with mine is she has a dark mark the back of one leg.
If anyone was expecting the shiny clothes of the prototype: there is no shiny paint to be found here.
