I like that I was able to get a Guts Figma that didn't cost me a left arm and a eye, but that cape is unnaceptable. The plastic part of it is good, but the dryer sheet cape is awful.

Good thing that you can get decent custom made capes for this figure, but that feels like a solution to a problem that shouldn't be there.

For those that wonder (like me), there are two accessory changes/improvements from the original Guts Black Swordsman:
    1. The figma stand adjustable pole is the new type with the deeper bend in the middle.
    2. In addition to the original 90 degree black adapter piece for the stand, it also includes one of the more common angled (45 degree? Not sure) clear adapter pieces

It's small, but I know I was hoping for the angled adapter piece and was glad to see it. Seeing the new pole design was also nice.

Like everyone else, I wish they improved the cape. I bought a third party wired one on e-bay and hopefully it comes okay...

sliusarek (3 months ago) #30763683I couldn't attach the cape without it sticking out up, rather than hanging naturally. Since Berserk they made 300 Leonid and it had a much better cape, why not to add 500-1000 yen and fix this mess of a cape?...
    I don't get it.

Yeah the 300 Leonid cape actually looks way better. Not sure why they didn't fix since it is the most common complain of the older guts figma.

Irah (3 months ago) #30744393I have the same problem with the hands not being strong enough to hold the sword properly. It's can quite annoying when it kept falling down. The cape is bad, I'm planning to replaced it.

sliusarek (3 months ago) #30655516Am I the only one with wobbly torso and legs that want to pop out whenever you turn them? I was trying to make the pose that is on the box (one leg straight, another one bent) and I've had so much trouble with them popping off. Then the torso started being loose for some reason.
And also, again, if you try to get that pose from the box, the bandaged hand will always fight you. It doesn't hold the weight of the sword and goes down. Kirito Figma had the same issue with its new movie sword for re-released version.
I did manage to get that pose but I really wish the wrist and hands for sword handling were a lot more tight.
Don't let my message discourage you from this Figma, tough. I did manage to get the pose and it looks great. It just wasn't as pleasant to pose as it might have been.

Picked up this version of Guts. The faces came out better than I expected and the paint job isn't bad, considering the price tag and all. Overall it's a good figma, but the joints should have been stronger as it's impossible to pose Guts in certain ways as his arms can't hold the Dragon Slayer without them not being able to put up with the weight. As well as the fabric feeling quite cheap.
