rokesy (15 days ago) #52996480No give at all on mine, both the purple and the white one are sturdy and don't move at all when I try to wiggle them.

Thank you for the reply! Guess it looks like I did most likely snap something but I'm really glad there was minimal damage.

Saw the comment about using heat to insert her foot but didn't see the one about going from an angle, will need read about that in case I have to do this again in the future.

    Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the tips, I was able to insert the metal rod all the way by holding it in a bit of an angle, didn't need much force at all!

    Hi everyone,

While connecting Shiro to the base via her foot to the metal rod, I used a bit of excessive force and heard a snapping sound which scared me to death.

I thought I accidentally snapped the purple chess piece because that's where my hand was when I heard the sound but I don't see any damage to it so the sound may have come from inserting the rod into the foot?

What I did notice about the purple chess piece though is that there's a tiny bit of give to it if I try to wiggle it around. I tried wiggling around the white chess piece and there's no give at all so I'm wondering if I did snap something with the purple chess piece, albeit super minor.

Could other owners comment as to whether the purple chess piece on your Shiro's base has some give as well or did I actually accidentally snap a tiny piece of it?

    Thanks so much!

I just checked up on mine after reading comments about the metal rod, but since it's cold here I wasn't comfortable with trying to force her in. Decided to warm her up with a hair dryer.
Sharing this in case anyone is having trouble fitting it all the way in!

What I did was hold the hair dryer about 20cm away from her, pointing it at her foot for a few seconds, detached her from the base, blew a bit more warm air into the foot hole, then finally slotted the rod back in. Was super easy and smooth doing this!
